Don't buy it then? Blizzard are confident enough in their product and will generally only offer it to those who's sale they have pretty much already locked in.

D3 won't be in beta very long at all. maximum 2 months i'd say.

The D3 team for Beta is a LOT larger than the development team and they are making big changes in a very small time frame already, example is that they are re-numbering the Demon Hunters skills and resource system already from feedback, and that is a big decision.

The question is how well the IT nerds are the servers have predicted the load and traffic. The Beta priorities are 1. server stability. 2. Client stability. 3. Errors. 4. Gameplay.

Spot on imo.

Then Bobby Kotick comes to your house and forces you to buy it at Australian prices.

This isn't the first game that's had an open beta.

It probably will be eventually :) WoW wasn't going to have one but it did, have faith!

I will spoil you all with delicious screenshots tonight :D

Beta will go open for one reason and one reason only. They aren't certain that the servers are stable enough to perform.

Unfortunately they have never intended for it to be an open beta (current CM comments aside) and i think it's unlikely it will go open. Instead once it's done and dusted they will just push away at going golden and get it out for christmas time.

Having said that, it will be quite large and have many thousands.

Also Silent Remorse may i ask who you write/work for? I assuming your press because current invites are press only.

Dodoman 21st September 2011 1:56 PM

Internode IIRC.

At first I thought people were kidding themselves thinking D3 would be out this year, but SC2 release date was announced some time in May I think for a July release. That's a rather short interval. If they were to announced the release date in the next month we could see it this year. Would make for a rather lovely christmas holiday.

For the purposes of D3, Internode. I freelance for quite a few Australian sites and mags.

It is kinda funny how the only articles on node, that appear without a bunch of mistakes, are those done by freelancers
