Have D2+LoD and all WoW (cept the last one) yet still can't manage to score an invite. A big F U to Blizzard right now.

I have all that and Warcraft 3 and TfT. Does that mean I should get in before you?

:weird:

I have all that AND StarCraft 1, BW and 2. But I don't have WoW.

Where's my spot in line?

so you think everyone that has played a couple of blizzard games should get an invite. That must mean at least a couple of hundred million invites..however will they work it out.

It's tough when you have to wait for the finished product aint it.

aeon.Nemesis 30th December 2011 12:06 PM

tbh i'd rather wait for the finished product.. I'm excited for the game, don't get me wrong.. but i think watching videos and playing an unfinished beta could cheapen the end product.. or at least spoil the anticipation..

I have faith that when Blizzard get around to releasing this, it will be an enjoyable game like all the rest.

got a beta invite through the last set of invites finished the game, beta was pretty short didnt find many bugs but still easy enough on normal

Anyone in Melb let me come over to play beta?

Sounds like a strange request but is there anyone in Melb with the beta who would be willing to let me come over and play it? Or, if you have a notebook, you could come around to my place. Looking at playing for maybe an hour or so, just to get the feel of the game and see if I'll buy it.

This. I've stayed away from the website hoping not to get sick of it before its out. I can't believe it's been 15 years since Diablo 1 came out, I think I spent most of my pc gaming time around the ages 14-20 playing D1 & D2. Time of spend some of my thirties on D3. (so old now)

If it makes you guys feel better, I knocked up 100's of hours on D2 and Ultima Online back in the day, havent been sucked in like that since but playing the beta it feels pretty good.
Combats smooth, just feels like Diablo how you remember it.

I can't see where the character development has hidden itself though - it seems like every champion gets access to every skill available to their class and there isn't even a choice in where your attribute points go. It just seems to be 100% about the equipment - short term choices only.

In D1 and D2 I always felt like I was 'creating' a champion, carefully plotting their development towards my goals. In the D3 beta I just felt like I was grinding for loot.

I think with the limited slots for skills (and only being able to update them at certain parts) along with the runes to modify skills, you will end up with character "builds" similar to D2

D1 and D2 was alot about grinding for good gear at the beginning of each game (which is what the beta is) just so you can go and fight the hard monsters to build up skills etc

I understand what you mean re: carefully putting points into your build but D2 was ALL about gear as well and if you were serious about making any sort of viable character, you'd already know where to put the points.

I'm sure Blizzard know what they're doing and I can't wait to see the finished product. :D
