Looks like everywhere's sold out of the CE. Looks like I'll be preordering the normal edition. Probably not going to bother with the digital edition, since I'm going to restrict myself to only playing on Fridays (the woes of the HSC).

I've been playing a bit more, the one thing that is really irking me is the exploration. Unless you see a giant Checkpoint appear on the screen, your exploration progress isn't saved. Yes your items/level/skills/etc will all update, but unless you hit another checkpoint nothing that you've explored counts. You can't teleport back to Tristram, exit, come back later and pickup where you left off.

Checkpoints are always annoying because at least any game that lets you quicksave, if you have to get off in a hurry you can... Halo was the worst, as checkpoints for that game would be at seemingly random intervals.

What does physical or digital have to do with restricting how frequently you play?

No point getting the digital version for the same price when I won't be playing on day 1.

fair, but if you don't mind not playing day 1, why don't you just wait for the first sale?

I don't think there will be sales in the first week, and I'll probably want to play it on the Friday after release.

Definitely going the Witch Doctor first. I've tried all the classes but I enjoy it's playstyle the most.

Throwing up on enemies and dropping zombies on them. Who can argue with that

the match making for this game sucks... everytime i try to join a public game it just kind of crashes.

in other news, i like the way the sorc plays! :D what I don't like though is that I looked at the craftables and one of them was +34-44strength, 2 random magic properties. it's like wow all over again.

Anyone still got a spare beta key by any chance ?

Don't really want to pre-order until I get a chance to check out this incarnation of mouse killing software

Autti 16th March 2012 8:23 PM

At first, I agreed with you. Now, I’m in two minds. On one hand, I’d love to be able to resume exactly where I left off. On the other, it forces a bit of extra grind, and if there was one problem I had in D2, it was that I didn’t grind enough, and found myself under-powered at crucial times in the game.

I’ll probably play through as a monk, first. I prefer melee combat / characters, and it means I can build up some gold / artisans etc. to give me a head-start on a wizard which will likely be my second character.

Debating the pre-order now; the CE appeals for the extra content only, but I don’t think it’s worth the extra given how much of it I simply won’t use.
