as much as i want to play this game i am finding it a bit pathetic that people in that thread are whinging coz they have to wait till 5pm or so to play it............it's not like its the end of the world is it

The annoying part is the midnight launches, or even picking up the game on release day... Imagine picking up a game, getting home and being told "sorry, you can't play me yet"... They really should have staggered our release to May 16th.... especially those that take the 15th off as annual leave, even worse if the 15th is the only day they take off.

D3 is going to be available forever. An extra couple hours wait will not hurt you. People have been made aware of when the servers go live. Don't take the 15th off. Cancel that day of leave. There you go, all solved!

I'm quite happy that the servers will go live a day later. Gives me more time for my CE to arrive.

It works out great for me, I come to work, grab my CE copy at lunch and head home to play in the evening

You're forgetting the ignorant people that don't read the giant "Warning: hot coffee" signs... not that you'll find any of those people on OCAU.

It's available from midnight PST. That correlates with a mid PM launch for us, I don't see the big issue. Someone is a bit keen to play the game me thinks :D.

I think it's a god send. If it were midnight here, I'd ruin my sleep pattern. This way i can smash it for 8 hrs and then go to bed at 2am.

The servers will be online 5PM Tuesday the 15TH of may Sydney time.

But blizz did the midnight launch the same way with WoW expansions (ie US midnight, not our midnight). Surely most people would have foreseen the same thing happening with D3 and not put in for leave for the 15th?

Do people really not understand Timezones?

Australia is GMT +10, East Cost (New York, not sure exactly what timezone they will use) is GMT -4 which is 14 hours difference.

Midnight in the East Cost, is 14 hours later here which = 2PM launch (5PM if it is west coast US).

as said earlier, the game will be live for years. who cares if its not till 5pm. go outside and enjoy the real life outside of a computer for a few hours.

If that was directed at me I don't care about a 5PM launch in AU. I work all day and wouldn't play it at midnight on a work night regardless. My rant was people being to stupid to grasp simple concepts like time zones.

12:01am blizzard server time is 5:01PM Sydney time.

I think its awesome we get to start playing at 5pm, way better than midnight.
