Loaded up a save in single player, my now level 35 amazon. Playing on lan with my little bro with his werewolf focus druid. His druid is a beast :| He was an act behind me, and yet 3 levels ahead of me because he's been playing most of the game on players 8 no worries. He has about 1000000% lifesteal so as long as he keeps hitting nothing takes him out and then he has high level wolves to keep them busy if he does need to back off for a moment.

Bashiok, Blizzard's D3 Community guy had a quick word about loading screens in D3
There aren't any loading screens. Personally I think it's amazing and I don't understand the magic the programmers have worked, but the game is instant or near instant. The same is true for initial game load. Start up the game, create a character, click a button and the game world shows up. No waiting and no real discernible pause. Mileage may vary slightly of course, but it would (from what I've seen) be in the realm of a second or two second pause at most. thats cool |

Want NOW Edit: After going through and looking at some new stuff, ive seen that they arent implimenting lan with D3, just as with SC2 this.... annoys me ive got adsl, so im in alot better possion than others, but the thing with blizzard is that their servers are all located outside australia. This means that we will be playing with a ping of 250ms at BEST.... this is a touch of serious fail from blizzard, and i will be looking forward to the point in time when someone hacks this so that point to point and lan games can be played without logging into a 250ms away server. |

Hopefully (big, big hope) they'll talk to a provider in australia ie Internode, Bigpond (No i don't wanna hear anything whinging about them) to setup an Oceanic cluster :weirdo:
Highly unlikely, but you never know |

wow thats quite crappy, if they dont have a server located in our around australia i will most likely not be paying for the game... playing games with 500+ latency is just retarded

As we already had to put up with these crappy pings in D2.. I use to PVP all the time, these american teleport in .01ms and your there chasing them teleporting at 0.9ms. I would be teleporting around, THEN all of a sudden i die... i go to pick up my body and i had died at least 5 teleports away from where i actaully was on my screen.... But i know there not going to look after us, as our population is so small, why would the bother?? and even with our small population , how many people are actaully going to be playing D3 or even know how good it is!!! |
yeh i played d2/exp back in the day, i dont play any games these days online that dont at least have an australian server the delay royally p's me off, i'll play the games single player/ lan but not online, but yes lan for d3 is a different question.
