That would be nice. They bought the game, so it's obviously not a deal breaker, and it's not going to change. Contributes nothing to the thread.

My deceptively high looking damage number looks pretty. Level 53 DH on Act 1 hell reading 13000 damage. That's with 100% chance to crit on my next shot, it's actually only 8000 at base. Trying to go a big crits build, with the teeth explosion rune on my hungering arrows and now using the long fuse bombs as my right click and all discipline skills on 1-4. Goes well with one of my barb friends tanking. They tend to jump in and bring them all to a point, then I splash some big crit damage.

A tip for the auction house, don't use the recommended items list and don't do general searches just for the item type you want. Pick some stats that you're actually looking for. I found some insanely good DH items for sale that go for very cheap just because they don't do +dex.

These things happen, and I daresay they will sort themselves out over the next few weeks.

The online only thing is never going to change. While it's annoying that I can't play when the servers are offline, I don't rant and rave about it - I just play something else for a while. With Blizzard looking at raking in lots of money from the RMAH, then they need to make sure that everything is legit in that RMAH, otherwise everyone will be up in arms about hacked items being sold for millions. The RMAH will secure the future of Diablo games, both expansions and future games - if they take 15% of the sale thats going to add up to a lot of money very quickly.

I made a serious post about the game about 10 pages ago.
Not 1 reply was made. Only 10 pages of "the server is down"

I vote 1 for a diablo 3 complaint thread.

Let's say I hop onto this thread to investigate a product I would like to purchase.
Let's say I personally hate to purchase a game that I can't play due to technical issues, because I only have a small amount of personal free time.
Now I get into this thread and all I read is how awesome this and that is or how people dislike this or that about the game's ingame elements.

I then go and purchase this game thinking I'm going to have a ball and to my surprise all I find is 3007 or server is down for 8 hours.

Worth the investment?

One thing I personally dislike about OCAU is how little attention games get technically, especially for a technical focused website.

Let's complain about the technical complainers while we all talk about a game we can't play due to technical maintenance.

Great stuff.

so you hoped into this thread saw all the technical problems, bought the game and then had technical problems, and you think your game was an investment.

Ok, hyperthetical.

First, the person is no me.

Second, this is a hyperthetical scenario where technical complaints are exiled into another thread.

Third, personal investment for this hyperthetical person = A game that provides ingame time suited for a tight personal schedule.

Slightly different thought,

but I think the lvl 60 builds/specs/customisation is more indepth than D2.
So many different ways to play through Inferno, some of them obviously easier than others.
A few minor issues with must-have skills (like Force Armor for Wizard) that do reduce options, but by gearing in different ways you can really make other playstyles work.

Loving the game and personally prefer it over D2 and Torchlight.
AH does reduce the fun a little bit and make crafting/boss runs not as exciting though. Its a step toward making Blizzard richer, and trying to enhance the play experience. Its a tough one to do correctly though. I dont want spam in general chat for WTS [Random shitty item].

Seriously, for those AGAINST the whinging, go and watch the escapist Jimquisition video, then come back and tell me you still think it's not ok to whinge.

Pretty obvious by the fact you're encouraged to use the followers and gear them up while playing alone.

And that they are absolutely pointless, doing 1/10th the damage, despite similar equipment in NM/Hell/Inferno

hotsuma 23rd May 2012 8:16 AM

people will complain when they cant use something they just purchased that is just human nature.

server down time and patching \ security issues were inevitable as there is real world monatary gains to be made

I just think it is a bit shitty that I have to come to this forum to see whats going on.

Like the servers came down last night, the server status said they were all up, come here people are saying it is 8 hours, the only blizz post seems to be related to ensuring account security you should use an authenticator.

I think there would be less QQ if there was an easy way at any point to see if the servers are having issues or coming down for patching .
If were coming to places like this and twitter to see if anyone else has issues with the game , or to see when servers are back up obviously there will be lots of spam in the thread.

edit: oh NSanity im late act 1 hell my 52 scoundrel is doing 650 dps . not great but it sure makes a difference, im thinking of giving the templar a go too. having a follower\pet makes a big difference when you stumble into a group of 3 elites, sometimes getting one of them off you onto your pet for a few seconds helps alot, had to go back to town for him last night. also he buffs my damage so there usefull for that +10% damage after either of us crit i believe .

My Templar is doing ~200. My 47 Barb is doing 2400 - 3000 (100% Fury = +25% damage buff).

He is insignificant.

It would take a bot hours apon hours to do what a hacker can do in 30seconds, they are nothign alike.
So they can do the same thing, it just takes longer, but they're nothing alike. Mmhmm. Gotta love the Blizzfanboy mentality. The online system prevents one form of exploits but not another, it's a failure, and all the issues that it has in introduced doesn't make it very useful.

the game director saying it was built from the ground up to be coop.
Great, though I'm not sure why you're telling me that

Can you show me where they said it wasn't intended to be a single player game? Where they say (as you said) 'directly state it wasn't made for single player in multiple interviews'? Thanks.
