What do you guys do with your surplus yellows? Any luck pawning them off on the auction house?

MOIRAE 29th May 2012 10:09 PM

Can I just ask a quick question in regards to starting out in Inferno....

Average geared Wizard. 30k health, 12.5k dps...

But I suck pretty hard I guess. Solo I get smashed pretty hard.

Also I have been struggling to get any sort of group together for act 1.

Do I really have to plow the Butchers wife 30 times a night to get lewts?

90% are junk, but if you get ones with good primary stats they sell quick at auction. Just search for the same stats to see the prices, undercut by about 10-20% (depending on how quick you want it to sell) and you can make some good cash.

I spent a while just buying and selling and got about $500k in one night when my char was only level 30 :). Trick is not to fill up your 10 auction slots with junk or overprice things otherwise they will be stuck there for 2 days and you can't take them out. I made the newbie mistake of locking up all my auction slots for 2 days the first time i tried :/

One way to make cash is to search for a expensive unique item by name, then set the max purchase price to much lower. Then keep on searching over and over (this is probably why the auction house is so slow.. ppl searching constantly lol). As soon as the item pops up buy it immediately otherwise someone else will beat you to it. On the right items you can make $100k a pop pretty easily.

Lots of people are bitching about inferno on the blizzard forums about it being too hard :P. It's 4x as hard as hell so its not surprising so many people have trouble with it.

Seriously? I've played it for a few hours a day (4-6hrs) for pretty much every day since release and NEVER had a connection issue. Maybe your one of thos poor bastards who gets all the bad luck?

Screw maintenance, but if they patched it every week/fortnight I wouldnt mind, but 8 hours ETA? Bullshit considering it's not an MMO and we aren't getting extra content.

Diablo II never had such downtime.

Better to over quote and say it'll be down 8hrs and it comes back up in 3-4hrs, rather than say it'll be down for 3-4hrs then something goes wrong and it's not back up for 7-8hrs... In other words the patch isn't taking 8hrs. They are giving themselves breathing room for hiccups. Pretty obvious stuff there.... :Paranoid:

I think your hp is ok but need to increase the damage cos 12.5k dps is too low for inferno.

I upgraded ~480 dps weapon to ~750 dps weapon for the inferno mode, i can do 46.5k dmg, 27k hp with glass cannon and force weapon but im still not doing enough damage to most mini boss in act two so im saving up for 850-950 dps weapon.

i for one am totally happy with how hard it is, it feels impossible for a fresh 60 exactly like in wow if you took a fresh 80 in blues and put him in a tanking role in a current progression fight, one hit dead , people laugh at him, he goes back to gearing up .

only thing , i hope i finish infernal before any nerf's should be fine though if they believe 1.9 percent of people that purchased the game have been to inferno then i should be ok, they will nerf it when about 40% of people are there .

Azzan 29th May 2012 10:30 PM

I think inferno mode is too hard, cos i can solo most part of the nightmare mode easily with +161 magic find build(~18k dps, 10k hp) but im having trouble in inferno with ~46.5k dps, 27k hp and im only upto act two.

.Radiant 29th May 2012 10:33 PM

inferno in terms of monsters is fine, make them more difficult if they like.

It's the classes that need fixing.

edit: Just quickly added new sheets to the battletag list for people who're playing on either the euro or asia servers for times like this.

Sebstar 29th May 2012 10:39 PM

how the shit do you guys get 40+k dmg, 27k hp on a wizard at lvl 60? What kinda gear are you using? 900dmg 1h plus high damage off-hand? Also what build, because I just can't seem to find something that just works... Either I sacrifice survivability (removing mirror image/diamon skin/armor) or damage (by not having force weapon)...

TELL ME YOUR SEKRETS!

MOIRAE 29th May 2012 10:45 PM

Same here.

I thought I was doing ok for where I am at...in terms of being pretty fresh @ 60.

Got me arsed where everyone gets millions of gold to buy more shyte.

27k hp is not even in the ball park, at a minimum i would say 40k hp but your going to want a lot of regen and life on hit at that.

i totally agree there is class balance issues, but at this point i think the difficulty of inferno is fine (i have not finished it)

at a guess if anything is over powered in inferno it will be the elite mobs, i saw one in act 2 and i believe it had 5 or six buff's now that is a little on the impossible side , sure more damage but specific ones = too much burst damage, and thats basically along the lines they have mentioned there not happy with how spikey damage is .

edit , for me i have always hated questing and loved end game, inferno being very very hard is what i want , if i need to stack stats i currently could not believe that is perfect,
anyone know what a lvl 60 wow tank has in hp\defencive stats compared to a geared one? the fresh 60 would probally flip a table and say thats not possible.

gear grind game , they need to put that part in somewhere
