They clearly say they are ruining act 3 and 4.

You have to remember alot of people bought the game because of the promised difficulty, it was meant to be impossible to beat the game for months. It was already to easy out of the box it doesn't need to be made any easier.

It's bad enough we can barely play a single player game due to the server being down but then they force patches on you too.

it's not a single player game tho :p

Neither was Quake 3 and UT99, that didnt mean we had to endure 200 pings, lag spikes and server downtimes to enjoy the singleplayer

With "quality" games, comes "quality" nerfs.

Euphoreia 7th June 2012 2:24 AM

Yeah, everyone saw the NerfBat(tm) coming. Act 1 Inferno is, and always has been very well balanced. Act 2+ was fucked. they made a good decision.

I'll be playing the game again now. I quit after getting to act 2 as a barbarian.

There is no single player which is what you aren't quite grasping. You are simply playing an online game by yourself.

BUT

There should certainly be an offline mode (make it so you still have to log in obviously) which runs a separate character list to any of the servers so you can't just spoof items as someone suggested previously.

Even being always online for authentication reasons would be fine IMO, just don't force the game itself to run server side only.

and this:
http://newd2event.net/index.php?id=s...ugged_items/14
and this:
http://newd2event.net/index.php?id=s...ugged_items/12

Feel exactly the same here. Stopped playing in ACTII with my Monk because it was just impossible. Not even fun, just impossible. Act I was a cakewalk however.

Glad they realised the difficulty step up was too much :)

Wodan 7th June 2012 5:32 AM

Gah, just realised I had the enGB client so I couldn't download the patch.
Followed the steps here to set the patch server to enUS and all is good...phew

itsmydamnation 7th June 2012 6:26 AM

it might just be me but it looks like the "fixed" gold drop, ie I made 40k from gold in the time i normally make 100k (act 1 inf)

8MadDog8 7th June 2012 6:29 AM

So beat the butcher in inferno last night with my solo wiz.
Act II is how you say, harder......

Think im about 22k damage, 25k life, 200 resist and not sure on armour.

Pretty sure i need to increase the DPS...

For the wizards out there who have made it to act 3/4, what kind of stats are you running?
Would like to see the gear you are using? Just so i have something to aim for on the AH..... But it will be hard with only like 500k gold.....

ol-skool 7th June 2012 7:41 AM

i now have about 10k in my bank after going stupid in teh AH last night.

SneakyBastd 7th June 2012 7:50 AM

Can you guys log in? Client updated itself this morning, but can't login. It keeps saying patch is available, will now restart...

Yep bump up your damage as much as you can. If you have a good weapon already then try for as much Int as you can on your items. Another 2-300 Int will make a noticeable difference.
Act 2 is certainly harder, but dont be afraid to take it slow and restart the game if you get stupid champion packs blocking your way.

The quest for killing Maghda is a great one to start farming instead of Butcher runs I think, as its more open and gives you lots of kite room to build up your 5 NV stacks (and the boss is piss-easy).

I'm currently on Belial, and phase 3 is giving me headaches. Need a bit more HP (on 27k currently) otherwise I just can't stuff up at all. :(

I can't wait to see the confusion in new players when flawless square costs 100 and the next gem up costs 30,000!

I'm definitly saving my gems for this patch though, I currently am only up to crafting square gems... want to combine all my lower level ones but the price is rediculous.
