I've been using the scoundrel recently in inferno. I found the CC useless anyway, as it is all so greatly reduced in inferno. I just filled him with as much dex as possible, and he now does 5.5k dps. With 3 shot skill, I figure its worth something. He takes down white mobs in A1 while I'm using chat, so it can't be that bad.
Upgrading 5.5kdps on my build would have cost me 20mil, so I figure the cheap stuff he has is good value. -- othy |

WD Players, about to fight butcher.
Using a 1066 DPS crossbow, 2 handed. Its bumps my DPS to 20k. When using Sacrifice DPS goes to 25k. I could not even get close to smashing the butcher. Should i go a shield/1 hand dagger combo about 16k, 20 buffed? Or Mojo/1 hand about the same damage. i have slow movement speed as well, been thinking of buffing it. any suggestions on this build and where i should or might need to take it?. It does fine against mobs and everything but the butcher. Spirit Walk / Sacrifice / Wasps / Z Bears / Expl Frogs |
Butcher is so easy its stupid, just gotta move out of the fire and watch for when he jumps up and down, thats his primary attack and hits hard, but easy to get out of, once he starts jumping you have 2 seconds to get out of the way (run through him, not away)
The other main bit is his charge, easy enough to avoid. |
Depends why you are dieing Bertross.
Are you taking too long and the entire room is getting engulfed in flames? Thats ok because you just need more DPS. If you are dieing from being hit or getting caught in the fire too often you need to rethink your strategy. I personally think 12% movement speed on boots is a must-have for Aussies. |

ok that again validates movement issues on speed. he gets me on the charge move and only have 24k HP, cheers. |

Buy my over 200+ INT and 118+ VIT 800dps dagger off me and you'll be fine :P I don't know what sort of HP/res/armour you're running but I found it easier to beat the butcher with my wizard by standing next to him and just dodging his big hit. The fan of blades and his hook attack hurt muuuuch more than anything else. If you have +move speed though you should be able to dodge all of his attacks really easily as they're all telegraphed quite obviously. |

Currently I've switched to a petless build: Spirit Barrage, Haunt (30% slow), Spirit Walk, Soul Harvest, Wall of Zombies, Hex but the lack of AoE is disturbing so might switch out soul harvest. |

i dont have much cash in game so buying exp items is not in my play style atm. Id rather trade usually. I have 2 850 dps crossbows im trying to sell. |

i just did a run against him then with the %8 movement and mojo+dagger and smashed him so quickly. Buffed DPS to 23k and he had no chance. |
Raises some valid points irrespective of what you may think of him

Bertross I feel your pain. First time i tried butcher solo in inferno i died probably 20 tiems. My build simply wasnt conducive to butcher kills (zombie bears).
I worked out that with gargantuan, i could easily take him down. garg, although he would die, was enough of a distraction for me to DPS butcher down. Garg + templar that is. Once my gear and RA improcved I was able to take him down with my normal bears build. but initially, having 2 weak offtanks was the only way. Also, learn his rythem. Learn when the hooks are coming and GTFO so he doesnt hook you in (he points be he sends out the single hook) or hurt your with the fan hooks. For the single hook, he'll point, then all you gotta do is move left or right and it'll miss. The charge is obvious with the arrows so not hard to avoid that. Spirit walk also v handy to get out of the fire. :) EDIT: Ah good to see you smahsed him :) Phat loots? |

If i'm not online/not responding just PM me here and I'll jump on edit: didn't realise you already beat him heh. Well I'm bored so if anyone wants help anywhere up to act 2 inferno i'm happy to help out. Or if anyone wants to help me in mid act 3 that would be cool too :D |
So does Enchantress damage comes from INT gear??
