lower your graphics, update your video card drivers. What video card you got, it definitly sounds like your system is underpowered (or your graphics are higher than they should be)

It goes to 30 as its the next lowest vsync. 60 then 30. You need more graphical grunt or reduce the graphics settings

Ahh thanks. I have a GTX460 I did have Sli but my other card died :(. Settings are on full. Thanks guys. I will lower my setting. Although I thought a GTX460 would suffice.

just playing with a mate, kept getting dced was fine with a lot of lag before the unplayable bit.

So after about 40 spawns raging because I can't get my last stupid lore book to get an achievement (Larra's Diary in act 2...FFFUUUUUUU fuck off hurax and let Larra spawn!)

...I kill hurax for the hell of it and get my second ever legendary drop, after 123 hours play time, my first legendary being a useless 23 DPS mace lol. I knew it was worth doing this in Inferno 'just in case' something good dropped, I would have raged hard if it was another level 30 item.

im doing nightmare with my wizard, about to finish Act 1, but whats with all the junk loot? Even after killing an elite, all you get is some magical junk, hardly any rares (maybe 5% if that) and even then it's nothing amazing, and have not seen a legendary item yet.

In diablo 2, sometimes you'd just find an insanely powerful item that would blow your mind, which is why you kept playing it, going back for me. this doesn't seem to happen in D3? Also are legendary/high valued items random in the game like D2?

also on nightmare, are you at that stage where you should only bother with rare items and not magicals?

I was still running blue stuff up to act 1 inferno as a barb, although i didn't use AH at all until about act 4 hell because I never really needed to. I used a blue weapon for a bit in inferno because it had +str +vit and fairly high dps

Act 1, just find stuff and wear. Rely on smart combat.
Act 2, use stuff you have picked up and when you start dieing a little bit more replace weapon with something about 10k from AH.
Act 3, spend 50k per item.
Act 4, spend all the money. Only on items with All Resist.

Game is broken IMO.

Done with this game. Was fun to complete once, but grinding away on the same story for crap items, over it

Update your driver. You can now set Vsync to 'Adaptive' on Nvidia cards. It will sit at 60fps until your video card gets too stressed to do 60fps. The new driver then drops the frames to the maximum the card can pump out, not 30fps like you're experiencing.
