Yea the release calendar is looking pretty sad isn't it? Espically when a few of those are remakes of older games ie:

Final Fantasy X
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Oddworld: Strangers Wrath
Zone of the Enders

I got my Vita on release day and I love it to pieces it's fantastic but it does depress me when I see on the shelves nearly 2 months later STILL the same games and the upcoming games not terribly many interest me.... So far i'm only wanting Gravity Rush, Final Fantasy X, Tekken Vs SF and MAYBE Little Big Planet

I think a big key to the potential success of the Vita would be to not only get new titles out there that people havn't played before but to remake the old PS2 favs that everyone loved. Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts Covenant just to name a couple and they REALLY need to hurry up with the PSone capability. I will NOT be impressed if they turn around and say in a while that the Vita will never have that option

I am very happy with the way the Vita is shaping the handheld world. The Game and watch handhelds were so cool yet very limited (repetative games). The original Gameboy had tetris and super mario land to entertain me for years.
One of the biggest complaints by gamers about games is repetition. Our mind likes repetition, as long as we achieve something. Game and watch introduced high scores in our pockets.
The quality and features introduced by the original Gamboy already made history.
The Vita shares your highscores with the world (Facebook, friendlist...). The Vita has all the features that a gamer may need to enjoy any genre. The Vita is what the game and watch and gameboy was. A success story in writing.
I appriciate and enjoy what the Vita has to offer. If I felt like complaining about stuff I would instead use that energy to make a difference.

So I was in JB today and they had a display model setup but it appears to have crashed and was stuck on the home screen

Is this a common issue with the Vitas ?

No, mine has never crashed. As it's a display model people were probably bashing it about. Little kids seem to have no respect for stuff like that

Yeah, I've not heard any reports of freezing - mine has been solid as a rock since purchase.

As far as the release calendar is concerned - the same thing as this happened with the PS3 - remember the jape that all the Xbox fanboys would use: nice cosole, no games? Just give it time and we'll see the catalog fill out.

I think it's an amazing console, the quality of the launch titles (I've been playing Rayman and Wipeout) is exemplary - I just hope they keep up the standard. Bring on Disagea and Gravity Rush.

So I just beat Rayman: Origins ie: did the Night of the Livid Dead and damn was that hard! The first 70% of the game is a cakewalk but the last 10% is incredibly hard! Great game, I give it 8.5/10 on the sconometer.

i dont use a case. I either dump it in my bag, or put it in my pocket. but im the same with phones...I would rather not double the size/thickness of something :)
