Well scratch one off that list. I'm very sorry to say that I wont be getting MKVita. As for why...

I've only played briefly so far, and the graphics are simply put... disappointing. Not bad, per se, but nowhere near the capabilities of the system, and a joke when looked at side by side with the other major 3D fighter on the system, UMvC3.

The polygon count has been eviscerated making some parts of the characters look weirdly angular, texture quality is lower, and the characters have a bit of aliasing going on, which on a screen this small makes them look slightly blurry at times. The graphical disparity is even more apparent in the x-ray moves that have just been stripped of detail by a large degree. It even looks like most advanced lighting, bump mapping, and shaders are out.
1up

So sad. I was pumped for this :(

Naughty naughty. They have hotlinked all the images from where they grabbed them from. Not cool.

Damn that sucks, was really looking forward to MK.

Philll 30th April 2012 8:49 AM

It looks like a PSP game, pretty bad for a console that is selling largely because of its graphics capabilities

scon 2nd May 2012 1:15 PM

I wouldn't get too worried about the graphics on MK. It still is the equal highest scoring game out yet for the vita according to metacritic.

MrBS 2nd May 2012 1:56 PM

scon.... you didn't just post a link to metacritic like its supposed to mean something did you? :p

scon 2nd May 2012 2:24 PM

Ok, Ok, I'll post to the exact same site you did.

1up gives it an A-

Seems odd to me how everyone says graphics dont matter until they don't like them.

Philll 2nd May 2012 4:03 PM

Seems odder to me that graphics aren't supposed to matter yet most new games contain gameplay that has fuck all over many older titles, especially for RPGs and FPS

Considering the gameplay is probably on par with the SNES version, it leaves a little more to be desired

I want to buy one of these things once some more games come out, but with Sonys current financial problems do you think there's a chance the Vita could have a short life?

I'm keen to get one as well when there are more games. The only game I really want so far is Uncharted, and one game (except zelda *fanboy*) can't sell me a system. A price drop would be lovely as well, but the import prices are pretty nice. I'm not interested in things like MK where I'd rather play it at home. Most of my handheld playing isn't in places where I couldn't just play on a home console.

djdude1010 13th May 2012 10:20 PM

So its been pretty dead in the Vita world for a while :(

maybe resistance will bring it back to life.. hurry up E3 i want to see what sony has been hiding.. You must have something up your sleeve if you really believe you are going to sell over 10mill of these next fiscal year.

BalkanWarrior 14th May 2012 5:48 PM

Imported my Vita from Germany, what's the best way to get a better charging solution? Currently turning it off and letting it charge off the PC, would be nice to gain charge and play functionality.

FuzzyKaos 14th May 2012 5:56 PM

Err, buying one in Australia?

LOL nice quote btw.

Can't find them anywhere. I've only seen the USB plugs, not the whole charger.

I wonder how many more weeks and months it'll take for everyone else to realise

If they don't announce some good games at e3, its future won't be very bright

FuzzyKaos 15th May 2012 9:18 AM

As in, why did you buy it from germany hoping to save a few bucks, and not realize that they will charge you $150 for a charger, if the price of memory chips are what they are.

If anything they would restrict the sale of them just so you cant parallel import them.

Just look out for the fake crys of help on the Sony Community.
