OK, full sweep of memtest completed and 40% into the next run by the time I got back to it - No Errors
Specifying small video ram did change the 15.5GB back to 16GB, as we knew it would. I think that's all the I(s) dotted and T(s) crossed... - happy shopping !
* Remember don't buy registered RAM and you'll be fine.
