well i guess you assumed that my amp was hd DTS/Dolby so it would if that was true, but my amp is not so therefore i will not be losing any quality as i mentioned it will aid in connecting optical to my amp

So what you are saying is that the hdmi out is not going to be used at this stage.

I cant see why you wouldnt just connect the optical out from the PS3, straight to the amp.

i will try to explain it better..my amp has two (2) optical input Toslink connections i now have a total of four (4) devices that have optical out, i cross between the 360 and ps3 to which one (1) i have connected to the amp and i always have the pc connected as i use the pc for movies/games the most.

Now that i have foxtel im going to set it up so foxtel and the pc are always connected but when i want to use the ps3 or 360 i just change the hdmi device on the pc or get a hdmi source switcher box.

Does that explain it....?

anyway for the people that didnt understand the above i purchased the card to have future use of vidoe source passing through dts hd and dolby hd looking at most entry level amps with hdmi they only have limited inputs...

Which would be the logical thing to do.

Unless its your intention to unplug the PS3 or Xbox every time you want to use the one that isnt connected to the PC.
