Work for AusDrill? One of the guys I worked with was with Ausdrill at the superpit, these days he's driving Simbas in South Australia.

Oh, that R1700; thats roadbase in the bucket right? If its development dirt thats the cleanest, most well fragmented rock I've ever seen!

I wish I could post up photos of where I work (Underground Mine), but some of the big mining companies get upset about any photos being taken/released.

Yeah alot of refineries are like that as well. They dont like people taking pics from outside the wire. Let alone from inside the facility.

Some really cool pics coming in though. Have only just come across this thread. I will have to keep an eye on it.

I am not sure I am allowed to take photos in any of the places I work in. They all officially have a "no cameras or photos" policy but nobody really cares. As long as you don't draw attention to yourself you should be pretty right.

BTW, the reason so many places have a "no photos" policy is twofold... One is they do not like photos of stuffups making it out into the real world. A local minesite dropped a dragline into the pit a few years ago and within hours their clients in Japan phoned them up asking difficult questions along the lines of will they still be able to fulfill their contractual obligations... it was rather embarrasing for them.

Secondly, if you innocently take a photo that contained some unsafe work practice and it made it into the real world, then the company involved can get a hard slap on the wrist.

I just do the scenic shots and no real details, so have no hassles.

Is that a rig or an FPSO you work on, ss teven? What field? Looks like the NW shelf.

Products tanker Barrington. We carry petrol, diesel, jet fuel, other refined products.

Around 35 million litres or so, we measure in thousands of tonnes, so I'm not sure exactly.

*EDIT* how do I insert an argument for a thumbnail image when posting?

Hi Mate,

Yeah, we're about 70km north of Exmouth. Semi-submersible rig, I work for a survey company doing rig moves. Field we're on is Coniston, we just came from the Van Gogh field, right next to Woodsides Vincent.

(I had to do the thumbnail manually)

Hmm, i'll see if i can find one of the Ok Tedi pit. And one of the many truck jack knife accidents on the road up.

I got one somewhere of Xstrata's Rolleston Coal mine pit smoking nicely.

O&K RH200 Shovel next to D11R and Nissan 4WD Ute. They fill up Cat 789's quite well.

Why use 32T excavators and CAT 773's when you can borrow an EX1900 that needs 2 CAT 777's to keep it operating efficiently.

Upper Gold Coast (I think). Any suggestions what they will get from mining this peak? :P

That`s a lenovo, shouldn`t most of the coke be gone via the keyboard spill holes(don`t know exact name)

I had a bit of coke dropped on the kb and it just went through the holes, keys were a bit sticky but few cotton buds and filtered water cleaned it out
