He is constantly updating to the latest available version. Sometimes you get within 2 days an new version - and as you know every version is available in 3 different sub versions, standard, premium and premium without manila. I also like the idea to keep the OS as clean as possible. The more 3rd party apps you include (I know some people like it) the bigger are chances of glitches and instability.

Ah cool, so the miri ROMS are fairly plain then? I like the sound of that.

Will have to get my head around the backup process posted there on Wiki. Ive just got spb shell 3 setup as well, hopefully can backup all my settings from that too

Favourite app ive found so far has to be alloysoft's signal, nice being able to sit outside with a beer and browse through the music library on the HTPC! (itll certainly do the trick until if/when microsoft decide to implement their solution over wifi...)

Anyone been following phamquang's new roms on xda dev? The only one doing these very latest builds of 6.5... they're very nice but 3 roms released in 2 days is killing me lol.

No I haven't. Have been using NRG's Energy Genesis ROMs.

Anything particularly special about his ROM's or the new 6.5 release?

Yeah most of the actual wm interface is a bit more finger friendly, larger check boxes/drop downs etc. Start menu access is down the bottom now along with larger softkeys.

Also the first time ive played with latest manila, its pretty nice. I think the one from leo. Reasonably bug free, stable and quick.

And so far this guy is the only one releasing ROMs on these latest builds.

Looks good. I had tried Manilla 2.5 before but found it slow. Miri is claiming his to be as fast as 2.1 though...

The reason I stick with Energy is he has all of the options/programs in his that I'd use...

Registry editor, screenshot app, ability to turn threaded SMS on and off, Microsoft My Phone, Pocket RAR, at least 3 tweaking utilities, in-call recorder, Opera, Windows Live, an app to disable all data, etc.

I like that I can install the ROM and there's little to no tweaking required after. It would be a PITA seeing as I do it often!

You can disable it. No need to use it. Manila 2.5 in the latest Miri version is not slower, but whatever Manila you use it is slowing down WM. Recently I always keep it disabled.

Manila 2.5 in the phamquang ROMs is quite responsive, esp if you add Neos2007 revised graphics drivers (vers 2a). I must say the Leo vers of manila is pretty sweet, the animated weather backgrounds are a real treat for the eyes. I hated 2.1 and had been using SPB shell instead, but onboard with man 2.5.

I think all the progs you listed come installed on the ROM, aside from ICR. Oh and HTC's sms program is bunky after you've imported all your sms... im soldiering on but there's a guide to disable it and revert to standard WM sms.

And you can make opera the default browser in the manila tab now with just a reg tweak. Nice.

That all said, i cant wait for miri to release a 23047+ build

Oh god I know! I was playing around with different ROMs and installed one with the HTC SMS app. Imported my 8000 SMSes (I've been keeping them since the end of 2007) and the import took forever! After that, the app was so slow to respond LOL

Up to $1000 bucks. Great phone but won't be doing much rushing to get it.
