If 500gb is enough for you, getting a 2.5" 7200rpm one is a fairly decent option.
I have a 5400 rpm one in my laptop now, and i find it pretty fast |

500GB is enough but I've decided to go the external 3.5" + FW800 route.
In approx. 6month the 2.5" will come out and an SSD will go in! Thanks for your thoughts. |

This is them:
http://www.ioi.com.tw/products/prodc...03&HostID=2031 Although thus far they've been pretty useless in their responsiveness... I've found a few others but they don't also have FW800, eSATA etc. |

Well these guys have been useless thus far, can't get so much as 'boo' out of them..
These guys on the other hand are very keen for me to be their labrat ;-) http://www.jwe.com.tw/ They have this very nifty little external AoE enabler which can be retrofitted to a pre-existing enclosure, so long as it has eSATA of course. See 2nd video: http://www.jwe.com.tw/video_resource.htm Quote:
