I went and flashed 1819 last night.

Don't really feel any difference as my laptop is only SATA 1.5GBPS.

Dunno what is the changelog from v1571 to v1819. IIRC v1819 does not include garbage cleanup tho.

Also forgot to bench after flashing in my desktop pc.

link to the new firmware, including install instructions and a small changelog.

since it seems to indicate it wipes any partitions on the drive, ill wait until i reinstall windows again soon (just bought win7 HP, so will need to reinstall sometime anyway as im currently on 7 RTM)

Ahhhh awesome, thanks for that.

Pity it removes the partition, was hoping I wouldn't have to do a reinstall any time soon, everything seems to be working roughly a-ok at the moment.

Here are my before and after benchmarks with my Falcon 128GB. Same PC, same settings, same OS (made an image before firmware update and restored it afterwards).

As you can see, it's not worth upgrading the firmware.

stergiopilus

Thanks for the benchmark post.

I guess I am sticking with the current 1571 firmware until something better comes along.
Manual wiper.exe is not going to be that bad.
Only do it once a month.

I'd be willing to take that performance hit, just need confirmation of BGGC in the firmware first, else its useless on a Mac

Is there another way to mount these drives besides the adapter thingy?

Rang all the bloody shops around my area and only one is getting them in, which is two weeks away

Hmmm, given the perf hit I may wait until the next fware release. They should address the performance hit by then you would think?
