Default My computer gets hot

I am definitely very new at all this. I managed to build my first computer. It runs and does everything I need it to do, however, it gets so hot that my entire whole room gets extremely warm even with my window open and fan going in 60 degree temperature! What can I do? I don't remember my last computer getting this hot.

What parts did you use to build the computer?

The temperature is 60 degrees? There's your problem.

You need to be a bit more detailed. What are your temperature readings on the computer?

Is it causing any crashes?

High end components DO get hot and in small unventilated room they can cause a bit of heat.

Yes, I said I was new. I barely know what any of you are talking about. It is 60 degrees F, quite cool. My computer has crashed one time , but that is it. I don't know what I put in the computer. I went to store with a list of parts that were all quite expensive. I'll go home and pull out the boxes and list my parts. How do I check a temperature reading on my computer?

I'm a girl. I did this the girly way. Looking at pictures and following instructions. I do not know what each specific part does nor if I did something wrong. All I know is that it works, but it makes my room warm and the case is almost hot to touch.

a list of the parts will make troubleshooting a lot easier. where are you located? some members can even lend you a hand getting this problem fixed. i'm suspecting that you mustve seated the HSF badly on the cpy if its overheating. but most of the time the room getting hot is a good sign, since the heat is getting transferred from computer to surrounding air effectively

If they case is too hot to touch then you may need better air flow in the case. How about you post some photos of your case with it opened.
I know that my computer cools efficiently because it warms my room up so it is 3 degrees hotter in my room than the rest of the house, but if I touch the case it's room temp.

Default stop rubbing it?

If it gets too hot then stop rubbing it

Get some better airflow/more fans and that should help.

More fans won't stop it warming up his room. They'll just keep the CPU cooler (by transferring that heat into the room more efficiently).

I meant to cool the case, obviously it would make the room warmer, just open a window or door, I have my i7 and 285GTX with 2 screens and if it gets hot I just open the door or and window and it's not that hot. Although it is summer I have had to stop F@H on this machine so I don't waste money on too much aircon.

A list of the parts you brought would be very helpful

If you can take a picture of system, free image hosting here

A screenshot of a temperature monitoring program like Hardware Monitor Pro previously mentioned would also be good.

that would be good, not only to show you better airflow, but we could also identify what the parts are by looking at it, though a parts list would be more helpful.
