Dell XPS vs Alienware

Hey everyone,

I'm looking into a gaming laptop for $2.5k - $3k
So far im looking at either Dell Studio XPS 16 Link
or the Alienware M17x (or maybe M15x) Link

Has anyone used these before? Or are there some other options I should look at? I know alienware has a reputation for being overpriced and just paying for brand, but I dont see all that much difference per price comparing the dell and alienware. (plus i'd rather have a slightly more expensive awesome looking laptop than a boring one
