one possibility is that she put the power supply in upsidedown so the fan is pretty much against the bottom/top of the case..
I have seen it done before and it certainly does heat up the case itself

mines upside down lol but there are holes at the top of my case which gives it airflow, As mentioned previously please include some photos so we can see

we need screenshots of speed fan or other cpu temp measurer. And a photo of the inside of your case. Then we might be able to help

Surely better cooling for the computer wont cool the room down. It will just transfer more heat away from the computer and into the rest of the room.

If you want a cooler room, use components that don't generate so much heat to begin with. Graphics cards are probably the main culprit.

exactly, adding more case fans or whatever won't help cool the room down.

Your only option would be to get more air circulation through the room or use less power hungry components inside the computer.
