Take it outside, get the big bits with a vacuum cleaner, then use a can of compressed air you can buy at Jaycar or MSY, or an air compressor, to clean out the rest, if you have any stubborn bits on just say your motherboard use an alcohol wipe.

Sorry to hijack but while we're on the topic of cleaning cases.

If one was to disassemble the entire case, so there are no components left in the case, is it safe to use an air compressor and vacuum to un-dust the case? Or is there a possibility of leftover static that can damage any parts that are installed?

easy fix, put the case on the ground. or earth it with a your finger and stand on the ground bare foot.

nah mate - once everything is clear, do your worst to the case, then just ground it once your done. As per above. touching the floor and the case (skin contact on both) is the easiest way.

Just be careful when you put the components back in, that you ground yourself before touching them.

How long do the cans of compressed air tend to last for?

about 4-5 case cleans if you do the whole case.

I think off a bottle
I cleaned a mid tower 2 times
cleaned a full tower 2 times
cleaned PS3 2 times

I just used the little 2HP air compressor on the back of my mates toyota ute. My i7 is running 10 degrees cooler lol, Just used compressed air, I think I get a tad of dust stuck in the main fan made a funny noise but then i gave it a few taps as it was running and what ever made the noise stopped. This is so much better than cans on compressed air, soo much dust OMG I have never seen soooooooo soooooo much dust in my life.
