Default Help with X-FI Fatal1ty.

Bought one of these recently and it was working beautifully until I clean installed Windows 7.

Every piece of hardware is fine, but the creative driver can't seem to find 'any creative products' in my system.

Even the 'autoupdate' thing from creative fails to find it.

As such, I'm presumably using generic windows sound drivers, getting sound ok but the x-fi's still not coming up in device manager..

And idea what's going on?

Cheers guys.

Yeah, I had problems in the past, but the latest driver apparently works with Windows 7.

Bastards.

Ugh, no offence but people like SpudBoy should keep their mouths shut. Seriously offered nothing to the thread what so ever. The X-Fi Fatal1ty works fine with windows 7, running it right now with standard creative drivers and it works 100%, just installed it yesterday too.

I had a similar issue, windows wouldnt see the card. I took the card out and put it in a different PCI slot, and low and behold windows detected it without trouble. Once windows was able to see it, installing "SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0013.exe" worked perfectly. Then once the drivers were installed I ran "CSL_PCAPP_LB_2_61_09.exe" for the console launcher, which also worked fine.

I didn't even have that much trouble vampire. Clean install of 64bit and was detected straight away so I cancelled that driver search. Ran both those packages and it works fine.

lol. byte me.

lets see how long your card continues to work.

the slot swap trick has been done to death. it isnt a permanent fix.
the same goes for any card based on the x-fi chipset (which surprisingly.. all use creative alchemy.............)

basically.. yes, you may get it working again. but it will break. and continue to break until creative get off their fat asses and fix the fucking problem with their piece of shit drivers.

"byte me" lol I see what you did there. You do have a point however, Creative are renowned for their terrible drivers, but my point is that it does work... dont just give up and wait for creative to release some 'good' drivers, because I certainly wouldnt hold my breath!

Fixed the same issue for my brother in law by uninstalling the default driver in windows and installed the lates driver from the creative site (and alchemy but that won't make a difference in this case). Restarted and fixed.

You have to download and install the drivers from Creative Worldwide Support. They work in Win7. The autoupdate doesn't work for me either

I have never had one issue with my X-fi Fatality, it worked fine on vista, and has been fine in Windows 7 64bit for the past few months. Like others are saying use the drivers on their site.

i'm using an x-fi xtremegamer and win7 64bit. never had any problem using the card in the one pci slot on 32bit xp, xpSP2/3, 32bit vista, or the 64bit win7

Dont know if this is just Win7 buuut...

I bought a new Xonar DX card. Put it in the only spare PCIE slot on the motherboard, and absolutely nothing at all showed up in Windows

Had to buy a new motherboard (with plenty of PCIE slots just incase) before it worked.
