Heh I've been down that road, a particular program (Catia V5R16 -> 19) refused to render in 64bit windows, even the 64bit versions
Only solution was to run in xp x86, and lo and behold I lost a lot of ram, at least this way you use it
*edit* Oh, to answer the OP's question, why not run it and see? I'd imagine it would make a postive difference, but you're not gonna get a definitive answer unless you try
