Hello,
I just bought a pair of adh700s and about to buy an essence stx, but my question is how do u guys switch between using headphones and ur speakers? Does everyone just reach around behind their computer and unplug the headphones and then plug in the speaker cable? That seems like a huge hassel to me. One work around would be plugging my headphones into the audio jack infront of my pc but would that in anyway degrade the quality of the sound assuming i hook them up to the sound card internally?

Essence STX has ports to plug both headphones and speakers in at the same time. And basically you could choose to use either headphone or your speakers via the card's software.
So there is no need for an adapter. The great thing about the card. |

basically what you said except i have my speakers in the front port and headphones at the back, this way i never have to reach around the back of my pc (it doesnt really matter if the headphones are on while the speakers are).
My speakers have lost quality since using front ports however. |

My hD Realtek front jack doesnt work.
Mobo thing. So iv just got 5 speakers working with the headphones in the green. (Asus Xoner D2X) for my son to use with eith 7.1ch on and the z5500 off or headphone with dolby headphone. But that 2 in one is a good idea. theres room for ideas in this industry trust me. Searchers delight
