Hi all,
So im going to watercool my new PC and put it into the case seen here: Click to view full size! This is the system going in: Quote:

![]() I thought since im going to be cutting holes i may as well brush all the paint off the inside panels and paint it again. Here is the bottom/front panel after being brushed and cut. The radiator will sit here, pulling air from under the case, up through and out. I also got some swivel wheels to give it some height off the floor, minimising dust and also allowing me to move it around easily. Click to view full size! Test fitting the radiator and hard drives: Ive removed the original HDD rack that the case came with because the cables faced toward the back of the case and was a PITA. Instead they will be thumbscrewed into the case side panels with cables facing toward the motherboard tray side. Ill also have rubber between to absorb vibration. Ive also cut out the motherboard tray to make room for the HDD cables. This was half way through painting: Click to view full size! Test fitting the motherboard: Click to view full size! Wheels working well so far: Click to view full size! Miscalculation; Radiator covers on, only just clearing the wheels so it looks like the dust filter covers will need to be a little hacked up. Click to view full size! Here are the filter covers after hacking off some of the corners. Crude, i know but they wont be in sight and time is of the essence. Click to view full size! Just double checking that the fans are working: Click to view full size! I dont like the mounting mechanism that EK give out with their pumps so i made my own for the back of the case using some scrap metal and a couple of 1/4 inch bolts.First i made a platform for the back of the case that the pump could sit on. Here is the shape on an old case side: Click to view full size! Shape cut: Click to view full size! Bending: Click to view full size! Also modified a PCI backplate cover for use as a bracket to hold the pump in place: Click to view full size! After drilling some holes in the back panel, you can see how it all fits together. Ill have foam and rubber between everything to stop vibration: Click to view full size! Ive got some pictures of painting and assembly on another camera so until I upload them thats it for now. Cheers,

Good to see some one finally had the common sense to put their watercooling fitting into the modding section, If adding a cold cathode to a pc case classifies as "modding" im sure as fuck fitting a h20 setup should too! ... the amount of run of the mill fit outs in Extreme Cooling Section is getting old IMO... Best of luck with this project anywayz, should be a ripper when your done :-)
KiM EDIT: and is that your Mopar in the pic? And what suburb you in? Need any help give me a hollar if you like im up in Lesmurdie ;-) |

Not my mopar in the pic, the avatar has been like that since 2003 when i didnt have a charger. I should put a pic of my own in there. Thanks for the offer but ive already finished what i need to do so far, the rest of the project is on someone elses camera that im waiting for. I painted everything but the outside panels because i ran out of time, but i figure ill easily be able to re-paint them in the future.

Same can be said for 99% of the rigs in the extreme cooling section, all stock gear being installed over and over again, they really need a section for it. Anywayz....
Look forward to seeing how this has turned out... a good Charger these days would be worth a pretty penny? even if it wasnt a R/T ... LOVE the old Aussie muscle cars, dont make em like that anymore :-( All these kid ricers with their waaaaaah pssssssh sound like a continuous fart... KiM |
