Default BenQ U121 Repairs

I'm hoping I can get some advice through this.

In February the missus bought a BenQ U121, the nice 11.6" netbook. A few weeks ago, she opened it up and it had impact damage on the screen.

Much to my thoughts "f*ck!". While still under warranty, this isn't covered and have since sold my 15" laptop to cover the costs of the repairs.

However, the laptop cost $458, for a replacement screen + labour. $303 inc GST.

I'd have to say, I'm pretty pissed about it, while I know the damage isn't something I can get around and what happened was purely an accident (the netbook was in a bag with my HP NX9440 17" heavy SOB) and consequently got squashed (probably from braking) causing the damage. Something I wouldn't think of to avoid, or would happen. It just did.

I'm annoyed because of the costs involved to fix the laptop, it's more than half the laptop itself, and at $300 I could go hunting elsewhere and grab another netbook for that price.

Is there anything I could look at doing? Besides whine for a month to BenQ about how ridiculous this cost is?

Please no silly suggestions, I'm still paying to have it fixed. I'm just not happy about it costing near half for the netbook to be fixed, it makes me wonder how they can sell something so cheap and charge as much as they do for another part.

Hey mate, I feel your pain.

I've had a look on ebay and it costs $200 just for the LCD

I saw some for $110, but seeing that I guess doesn't make it so bad. Its just the circumstances having it broken at the time couldn't be worse.
