I can't believe there's not already a thread for this!!! (or I fail at the search function)
Ingredients: 125g Butter (margarine is never as good people) 100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar 70g (1/3 cup) caster sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla essence 225g (1 1/2 cups) Self Raising Flour 190g (1 cup) Chocolate Chips 0.5. Preheat oven to abouuuuut 180 degrees 1. Soften butter in microwave (or stove top if you want/need) 2. Mix softened butter and sugars together. Click to view full size! (looked cool :P) 3. Add egg and vanilla essence 4. Mix in flour and chocolate chips Click to view full size! 5. roll in to little balls and place on greased/oiled/whatever baking paper. Ensuring you place them a good distance away from each other, otherwise they will touch like mine when they cook (remember, balls touching is gay ) Click to view full size! 6. put in the oven, cook until golden (~15mins, but keep an eye on them) Click to view full size! Eat (Bambi's diet tip: do not leave cookies on the bench in their storage container, every time you walk past you will eat yet another :P hide them then you'll eat less) |

I make almost the same, but with plain white sugar instead of caster sugar, and plain flour, salt and bicarb soda instead of self raising flour.
I usually add shredded almonds and cranberries, too .

I made up the dough and cooked half, chucked the rest in the fridge. Absolutely awesome recipe, now that I've printed and cooked it we need to delete this thread to keep them a secret.
Chucked macadamia nuts in the second half, which worked out well, but I prefer plain old choc chip.

The amount of ingredients you used, how much can this server? Or how many regular sized cookies can you make? Or should I just count how many you have in the photos? lol.
I'm writing out a recipe book and one of the options in the template says "Serves" and I want to know how much so I can fill it out. Thanks for the recipe, will look great. Hope it's ok for me to use it... It is for public use I guess :P |
