For your K-7? Join the club! :) Have you done any micro-adjusting at F1.4?

Just added a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM (phew!!!) to the collection :D

It's huuuuuuuuge! Feels much more solid than the Canon 70-200mm f/4L, but also a lot heavier :p

Yeah, for my K-7, though it also fits on my K10D:p
Just playing around with it I've set the AF adjust to about -2 atm, but it actually seems to be pretty much spot on on my K10D. And god it's so quite compared to my screw driven Pentax-F 50mm F1.7.

Niiice. I got that same lens in K-mount and I love it.

    I'm annoyed that my 30mm F1.4 is still screw-driven :(

What are your thoughts on the Sigma?

I'm tossing up between the Tamron and Sigma at the moment.

Tamron get's a good wrap too.

    Looks a bit nasty though.

I can't speak for those particular lenses, but I personally prefer the Tamron plastic to the Sigma finish. Plastic is bloody strong these days, and the Tamron plastic doesn't seem to mark half as easily either. Being plastic it doesn't "feel" as nice in the hand though, but who cares?

My 28-75 has been packed into backpacks of various crap including hard objects and I can't find a mark on the plastic of it nor the hood. That's pretty bloody amazing IMO. Better than the plastic Canon use on their "prosumer" lenses.

edit: AFAIK the choice between these lenses comes down to AF and IQ as far as I'm concerned

Just had 2 Phottix UV filters delivered and they are crap. Both of the filters are loose and ratting inside the rings :thumbdn:

Received Nikon 18-200mm VR. Thanks TerminalVeloCD. Bubble wrap was nice.

    Observations.
    1. Really heavy. compared to my 35mm f1.8.
    2. When moving from 18mm up to 200mm, its feel like there is 'friction' up until 135mm, where the pressure eases. From 200mm back to 18mm though, all smooth. Is this normal?
    3. The barrel gets cold at night.

The Tamron does look nasty, doesn't have HSM and it's slightly more expensive. I've owned Sigma lenses before and even the cheaper ones feel really nicely built.

The 70-200mm is biiiiiig and heavy. About as long as my forearm with the hood on :p I haven't properly tested it yet, but the focus is just as quick and quiet as any Canon USM lens I've used.

I'm shooting a wedding today, so I'll most definitely post photos and thoughts on the lens :)
