Yeah, and you will be done with your house if you whack that setup in there.

I recently changed from Z5500 to Audioengine A5 with S8 sub .... and OMG ... absolutely amazing ... it would shake any medium size house decently if you are having a party ...

its an overkill for a PC but hey, I love it !!!!!!!!!

because to some people sony has street cred so to speak. and even rarer there are the sony fanbois who only speak highly of all that is sony.

Thumbs down

Seriously:

4x subs
4x bookshelf
2x floorstanding
1x centre
2x sub amps
1x AVR

for 1599? thats going to be good quality stuff

Seriously depends on how much you are willing to spend, the retail for my floorstandings are more than that entire system.

If you are willing to spend some money go into a real Hi-Fi place (JB-hifi doesnt count) otherwise expect to outlay the same amount every few years because something is going to break out of warranty.

My first set of floor standings are now 6 years old other than a scratch here and there (3 house moves will do that), they are still perfect.

Firstly, what's your budget? Secondly, look to VAF for decent aussie speakers, get a decent amp to drive them (I'm on a musical fidelity X-150 at the moment) and something like a Cambridge Audio DACMagic or Bryston DAC and use the optical out from your PC, then add a powered sub from REL or VAF or...anyone .

2nd approach - club gear - eg. JBL, Jamo etc.

3rd approach - car audio at home. just sad, but some is actually quite good in the treble. just remember that it's profiled to sound good in a car.

4th approach - headphones - AKG K702 anyone?

5th approach - studio monitors eg. Yamaha - lots of bass and a little port chuff.

Something from the LSK? (ocau sponsor) Heard they are pretty decent, they also come with something like an 8 year warranty.

You could always try something from here:

Havn't seen a budget mentioned yet....
