I'm looking to upgrade, and i want to go on overclocking ability.
Can people who have Athlon XP's (any, from 1500+ (if there is a thing) to 2400+s, or 2800+'s if you live in US) give me there processor name, overclocked speed and overclocked voltage and their cooling methods? People have been saying the 1600+ is good for overclocking, but i want people who actually have XP's to give me their goods (well i'd like it but maybe just your info for now). Post WCPUID screenies aswell. Thanks!! |

With a Little Searching either on OCAU or other technical reference sites you'll find a HEAP of info.
Just by typing in 1600 in this forum you get this for starters http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...highlight=1600

Well if i recall corectly the king of the hill (in OC ability) would prolly be the XP1700+ AGOIA 0215 '9' . Some ot these were pushed to >2ghz using air cooling.
Myself, I run a XP1600+ AGOIA 0206 '4' @ 1900mhz. So whatever you do, make sure you get an AGOIA week 15/16 would be best but most weeks after that were also good overclockers. DiVi8

There's a big thread on all this, check the sticky at the top of the forum.
Essentially you need to look at the CPU core, and read out the info on it.It should look something like: AX1700DMT3C AGOIA0216... 9..... The green AGOIA is the stepping info, other steppings include AROIA, AGKGA, AGNGA and maybe others I can't think of, but AGOIA is pretty much the best hands down. The info in red is the week number, 0216 means week 16 of 2002. The last letter of the 3rd line may/may not be important, most later week palominos have '9'. As has been said, week XP1700 week 15/16 AGOIA '9' seem to be the best, but you may have a hard time getting one... I have a 1700 AGOIA week 16 '9' that's doing 1951 on a KX7-333-R at 1.85V, watercooled. It also did 1968 at 2.1V with an AX-7 on the 8K3A+. It's a bloody good chip, I was lucky. ![]() [Edit: I suggest you read the info in the sticky, it'll answer many of your questions Specifically check this thread]

The search function is your friend. There is a whole thread with overclock results that was started so that we would have less of these threads in this forum. Here is a link:
