Default Ubuntu 10.10 Media Streaming

Hi Guys,

Another question from this semi linux nublet... :P

I'm trying to stream my media to my xbox. I've had some pretty good success with ushare.

The only issue i have with it is that my music is uncategorized and really... a mess trying to get it to work on the xbox 360.

I've seen some pretty good success with TVersity working in windows, but not sure if there is a linux client (have done some google searches with nothing set in stone regarding it.)

Just wanna know if there's any one on here that has had some success in getting a media streaming service (i've read of mediatomb, ushare and some other media streaming services, but none of them have been updated except ushare).

Ideally i would LOVE transcoding to occur (this already happens with my AirVideo server transcoding to the iphone/ipod/ipad), but would love for it to work on the xbox for mkv files etc.

Thanks for any advice.

m0n

UPnP is a standard protocol so I am pretty sure the xbox will see it.

Missing inotify support was a big issue for me with ps3mediaserver. FUPPES can be configured to support the 360, with transcoding support included. Documentation is sparse, however. Mediatomb does not support the 360 (yet?).

I haven't tried Serviio. Looks promising!
