I had the phone doing internal error codes (1 vibrate, then 3 more after a second) and battery life was fucked on Darkys 9.2, I've moved back to 8.0, seems stable and no more error codes. I always wipe when flashing roms so that wasn't it.

Just wondering, anyone having weird problems if they plug the galaxy into the usb port of a computer, and reboot the computer?

Mine takes ages to reboot if the galaxy is plugged in, happening to both of my PCs and looks like bios is trying to verify what usb device the galaxy is.

yesterday my phone on darkys 9.2 completely shat itself, launcherpro perpetually force-closed, had to pull the battery and restart the phone so it would let me select touchwiz, and now maps continually force-closes.

sucks as i got it just how i like it

might just need to do a factory wipe and put the latest version on (still 9.2 by the looks of things).

is it a telstra SGS? they have there own version called i9000T ( its a NextG compatible version ), if so chances are you need a new modem, if you have darky 9.2, find the JP6 modem and flash it via recovery, i done this last night and it worked fine.

also, if that does not work you might need to change you product code, in nv_data.bin, if you need to use it let me know and i can explain as you need terminal emulator, and root access.

if you now how, change your product code to ATT ( AT&T america is identical to Telstra one )

this worked for me fine

ps, i think i got your problem figured out, not sure if thats the same problem as i had though

JP6, JPK and theres another modem which is compatible for telstra ( darky supports it by default, but sometimes fucks up, like mine lol )

Yeah my old one was telstra version till i thru it in the BIN

The only was i was able to flash to a diff firmeware was all individual files i was unable to just use the 1 file PDA thru odin

Then only carrier i could see was optus think that happened because i tried to unlock it myself and think i locked it to optus lol

So i want to put this on I9000XXJPY_XSA + use darky 9.2

But wont darky's rom over write the modem file included with I9000XXJPY_XSA

Just flashed my friends i9000 on Virgin Mobile with Darky 9.2 (3e recovery is annoying - I have a Captivate with no such problems - I ended up using SGS Kernel flasher, putting speedmod on then jumping to CWR and flashing darky).

Everything seems swimmingly except i can't get the APN to connect to data.

Using VirginInternet settings below.;

Virgin – Internet & MMS
Name: Virgin Internet
APN: VirginInternet
Proxy: 202.139.83.152
Port: 8070
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.virginvibe.com.au:8002/
MMS Proxy: 202.139.83.152
MMS Port: 8070
MCC: 505
MNC: 02
APN Type: default,supl

The SMS tool on the Virgin site won't actually send the txt.

Samsung Galaxy S II

Quote:
Alright, we've just laid eyes on some internal Samsung documents and can bring you the official names and specs of the successors to the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab. Firstly, the Galaxy S II will tout a 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1GHz dual-core Orion / Exynos processor, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0, and 24Mbps HSPA+ connectivity. All those stats were leaked earlier this morning, along with the image above, and we've once again seen the 8.49mm thickness for this device, although we now believe it is the measurement at its thinnest point -- it's likely that the S II will fatten up to 9.9mm, presumably to accommodate the camera module, one of the last remaining parts of smartphone construction that require extra girth (NFC being another).

Samsung working with Sybase and Cisco to make Galaxy S II enterprise-friendly

Quote:
BlackBerry may be the go-to enterprise smartphone platform, but Samsung is positioning its newly unveiled Galaxy S II as new contenders for the crown. To get there, Samsung's working with Sybase to bring far more advanced security to the handsets than stock Android offers, including control of individual applications and ports and also allowing for remote administration -- including admin-pushed app updates. Samsung also talked up the phone's Exchange compatibility and, with help from Cisco, the phone offers WebEx compatibility, VPN support, and VOIP calling. Know what this means? Your next corporate phone just got a lot more interesting.
I should get work to get me one :P

Samsung Galaxy S II official: dual-core 1GHz CPU, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus, coming this month

Quote:
We were able to spend a little bit of time with the Galaxy S II today, and we can conclusively say that this is one gorgeous device. It shares the Infuse 4G's aspirations as an ultra-thin Android device and arguably shares most of its industrial design elements, but interestingly, the Infuse steps down from 4.5 to 4.3 inches -- either a nod to the fact that 4.5 is too big for a mainstream smartphone, or a sign that the 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus component simply isn't ready yet. You totally notice how ridiculously thin the phone is as it rests in your hand, and the effect is amplified by the fact that it's got so much surface area -- the screen-to-edge ratio is off the charts. Though we still prefer the stock Android experience, TouchWiz 4.0 (as it's being called) on top of Gingerbread is clearly Samsung's most refined custom Android skin to date; a new Game Hub in ROM has potential to do battle with Sony's PlayStation Suite and allows developers to bypass the download size limits of the Android Market, but we weren't able to test it on the preproduction unit we were given.

My giro (the thing which senses the phone moving to flip the screen) is broken on my samsung galaxy S.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I guess I will take it to an Optus world. I bought it on their website though....

Have you got it turned on?

On 2.2.1 it's available as a button on the notification menu. Earlier versions had it in the settings
