Cool iPhone 3G headphones for gym/running/cycling/exercise

Hey guys,

Looking for the best exercise-proof (sweat, rugged) headphones for my iPhone 3G. Ideally they will have;

* mic/controls
* ability to work with new smartphones (HTC, Samsung, etc)
* sweat resistant

I'm currently using the Apple in-ear headphones but the wires and joins have deteriorated badly enough for the iPhone to think it's being told to stop/start and change tracks (super annoying).

I'd like the idea of wireless, but apparently the 3G needs an adapter to enable Bluetooth.

Anyone have some good ideas or had this dilemma?

No one?

From a bit of research I've come up with the following;

Sennheiser Adidas CX 680i
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser...rt-line_504603

Soundwise S1 Earphones
http://www.soundwise.co.uk/earphones/s1.shtml

Soundwise S6 Sports Earphones

Thoughts?

iOS supports A2DP since 3.0, so you should be able to use any stereo bluetooth headphone on an iPhone. I'm using a Sony Ericsson MW600 and it pairs with my iOS 4.2.1 3GS with no problems at all.

With the MW600, you can use any headphone you want, has mic/controls, has a OLED display (but can't display track name on iPhone), and also has a radio too (great for iPhone, which doesn't have radio). Highly recommended.

For corded options, you can also consider the Klipsch S4i.

Thanks for posting Slugoid, I bought the CX680i's for $95 shipped on ebay this morning (better than $179 via Apple). My iPhone is on it's last legs so I'll probably get a Nano/equivalent for exercise and just use my iPhone as an expensive XBMC/Boxee remote at home.

The Klipsch's look nice, but the Sennheiser's look more durable.

+1 for Bluetooth headphones! I use a simpler version of that set, the DRC-BT30. Has all the same benefits minus the LCD display.

Best thing about BT is that it means you can use your phone freely without worrying about the cable getting tangled as you put it in and pull it out of your pocket.
