ive got my copy ready to go tonight

i finished da : o plus all DLC and awakenings

ive read such mixed reviews for this game already - i am going to be supremely pissed if i dont like it.

please can someone confirm that we can or can't change our parties armour etc?

You can only change their accessories such as rings/amulets/belt & weapon.

When they level up you can choose auto or manually select attributes//abilities.

Are you sure? I went on the page and it's showing addons and bonus items and whatever and shows new outfits on the character avatars.

Why on earth would they remove the feature of wearing different armour = change characters look? That makes the F***** game.

Here's a quick gameplay vid lvl 6 rogue, don't watch if you hate spoilers since there's a tiny NPC cutscene.
This is with the high resolution texture pack.

Graphics don't seem that bad to me.
I love how the characters talk as if nothings wrong while covered in blood :|

Apparently you can upgrade your party's armour throughout the game but 5 hrs in and nothing yet so far. It might have been doing it automatically but I havent noticed.

Their armour changes automatically as the story advances. Very stupid.

Doesn't look too bad with the hi res textures. Doesn't look that good either. I am finding the graphics of DA2 to be mediocre at best. I just really don't like the new art style.

EDIT: Reading the feedback thread on the bioware forums. There is a minority who think the game is awesome with most people saying it is just okay and too linear.

The landscape textures look fine for an rpg/arpg. I'm not quite a fan of the super mega flashy bling 'splosions and stuff though. A bit of elemental damage looks ok, but those battle scenes... I've seen discos with less flashing coloured lights...

I think the changes are only aesthetic. The stats remain the same. Although, if you do certain quests you can unlock or obtain upgrades for their armor or whatever.

That makes even less sense than not being able to change the armour in the first place. Why make it look different but still have the same stats?

I think they were going after realism. Because the game is over the span of 10 years, it is assumed they would change outfits.

It is ANNOYING though going through items in your inventory and swapping characters only to see every piece of armour restricted to your <character's name>

If they were going after realism they would let you equip items to your party members. All armour etc being limited to the main character is not realistic.
