Funny how it happens with 1 gpu installed, is it possible the raptor or the drive you run your games from is on it's last legs? I would also now try replacing Sata cables or even unplugging every HDD and just use the Os drive with your main game installed.

For me my stuttering only appears in TF2 when using Xfire, eyefinity and AA in TF2, all others games and benchmarks are running as expected, I've had this issue in TF2 for over a year spanning alot of hardware(every piece of hardware has been changed and it still does it, even on a fresh OS install). If I didnt like TF2 so much it wouldnt worry me, but it's my favorite game so it's very annoying having all this hardware run like crap in that one game).

Cheers for all the help guys, but i managed to fix the problem last night.

I was uninstalling/reinstalling drivers and when i went all the way back to 260.99 the problem was fixed

Im not sure whats been changed by nvidia in the last couple of drivers, but 260.99 seems to be working good.
Now i just have to deal with using old drivers......

It shouldn't be that bad. The age of those 280s won't be seeing many improvements to write home about so enjoy then whilst they are working

My bro inlaw is using way old drivers on his 295 as he could not play fallout 3 he also plays alot of recent titles without fuss.

If drivers are working there is no real need to change unless it fixes an issue tbh
