What did you end up using as the filter material?

yeah doubt it would work
dremel would go straight through that

gaff is adhesive CLOTH tape..thats what makes it so strong...
i have nicked it with the dremel plenty of times but not gone through

if u can find the real stuff get it..
its about $20/roll iirc...but well worth it

Gaff is The Force™

It has a Dark Side and a Light Side and it holds the universe together.

Use wood and build it yourself.

It won't be hard.

Google some how to's on wooden boxes. A bit of jigsawing the holes beforehand and doneskiis.

I've been able to remove both cages without too much hassle, they were actually screws not rivets.
And I think I'll be able to do what I want without too much hassle, I'll explain in more detail later.

List of things to do:

Measure & mark out the cuts for the CW02 mods
Don't want to do any actual cuts until I'm 100% sure there's nothing else about the case that's missing or not functioning.
The quality control is questionable, & doing mods will void my warranty!

Buy the wood & have a go at building the filtration box myself
Cabinet makers are going to take a while, all backed up, cheap though.

Fashion the alu (copper?) rad/fans mounting bracket, that'll be bolted to the lid
As I recall there's a few CAD's floating about that I might be able to use!
^
There's pre-built brackets creekin pointed out that'll do the trick here!
I will just need to determine how best to "bolt" it to the lid.

Have a go a building the filtration box in Alu
Absolutely no idea where to start there....
^
Scratched this for now, going to get the basic box pre-built in wood, & will fashion the rest myself.

There are Chinagraph's, they're a brand or another name for Grease Pencils.
I went to OW AGAIN and got this...
http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...0/IMG_0025.jpg
Unfortunately they didn't have the Chinagraph's in stock.
It's not clear on the packaging whether it's actually a grease pencil, but it certainly looks/feels like one.
For Gaffer I got this....

My re-post was for anyone's thoughts/ideas on this...

Also I'm wondering once I've built the wooden frames/box...
What sort of mechanism I'm going to use, to easily remove the filter material used on the rear & sides.

I'm thinking some sort of frame, that easily pops out of each of the sides.
And easily clamps on to whatever filter material I may choose, thick or thin.
And has an extra "mesh" layer in front of the actual filter material, to improve aesthetics etc.

I may be able to use something from demciflex, they do custom sizes I think..
Maybe they'll customize further by adding a clamping mechanism for the denser filter behind the mesh.
Or that route may not be suitable at all......

Congratumalations!

and OH FUCK! call an ambulance now!!!

the cutting "wheels" are indeed the round things..
but they are the old kind..
u shoulda picked up the "ez cut off wheels" while u were there

there is a "Mandrel" with a screw in the top
(bottom left of the pic!)
  1. remove screw
  2. position wheel
  3. replace screw
  4. cut off appendages

PLEASE wear eye protection
securely clamp the piece and
practice practice practice on scrap
BEFORE going near your case..

dremel is a bit tricky to handle and can srsly hurt you if your not careful.
google up some dremel how to vids

My uncle Stumpy never had any trouble with his dremel

The pic you have there is actually a sanding wheel the ones your looking for are the circular flat discs that look like frisbees or 20 c pieces
