Exclamation Steam not installing games :S

black ops and mw3 were working before, but then my games started to crash. So i reinstalled steam and tried to reinstall my games. The games would just stop at 95% complete and they wont launch.

Specs: AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core 2.2 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Windows vista home premium 32-bit

btw this is a friends problem, not mine.

It is very possible that it could be just all the load on steam atm because of the sales. I myself am having trouble getting past 0% on magicka download. Yet at the same time, there was no problem getting 2 months worth of updates for TF2.

Default Steam Games not installing

I am the one who is having this problem. Thanks for your response but, I am trying to install a game from the disc. Not downloading it so, it shouldn't be a problem. Would Windows Vista be a problem?

It might have installed 95% of the game from the disk. Steam might be trying to download the updates since that disk was made. Try going into steam, and look at your downloads and see if anything is downloading. Otherwise, call up task manager and look in the network tab and see if there's anything going on..

Okay thanks for the reply, I will try that although, it never finishes the installation so I don't know if it would start the updates.

No I don't think it could be, because I have the same problem with MW3 and, it is 1 week old no scratches.

in the library right click the game and go Properties then click the Local Files tab then press Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Might be that steam has installed it but is being a bit of a douche and not realising it.

Yeah I wish it was that, except you can't select it because when I go to local game files you can't select anything because nothing is installed :/ Thanks for the reply though
