Default PC Lighting

Hi OCAUers,

I thought I'd create a thread on PC lighting. I currently have the following in my case:
- Bitspower Dual 30cm Cold Cathode UV Kit
- Lamptron Spectral Bar Cold Cathode UV

I've found that the light put out by both of these kits is fairly weak. I have one of the 30cm bars at the top of my case and one at the bottom and the Spectral Bar vertically on the right hand side of the motherboard. They light up the outsides well but the centre of the motherboard (and my UV reactive tubing) isn't lit up particularly well. The end result is fairly uneven lighting. I have pics in the build thread in my signature.

Do you use lighting in your case and how well does it do the job? Which PC lighting would you recommend?

I'm not into pretty things either, I'm more into functionality - like a nice rack on a tight body.

WIN!

I am convinced LED's should be added in my upcoming build now. Weighing up getting some white/blue LED's for my upcoming build, as I already have 2 UV cathodes which are kinda weak. Its going into a TJ07 which has the Bright 'n' quiet appollish fans (blue ones) which will be mounted above the CPU + LED waterblock and tubing.

I was even thinking of wrapping the insides in a white carbon-plate 'laminate' and cover up the ugly silver... possibly paint it.

Awesome build, Creekin - looking really pretty.

OK, so CCFLs aren't great. Are there any decent LED UV lights? I found the following LED UV lights at The Koolroom:

- Flexlight High Density UV 60cm

And at PCCG:

-EK Twin LED Ultra UV

Will either of these do a decent job of lighting my case? I'm assuming I'd need to grab a few of the EK Twin LEDs to fully light a case. Would the Flexlight do the job on its own? Do you know of any UV LEDs that perform better that the two above and if so, where could I find them?

Thanks in advance.

uv leds only work well with uv reactive material...
works best with white or bright fluro colours...like tube or plastic fans

otherwise its next to useless...
better to get a real colour imho
its not 1995!

also on ccfls...

Sadly my current case has no window. However in the past my box was lit up like a Xmas tree. on that note, in the past I found it difficult to work with perspex. Unforgiving material.

Matter of personal opinion so can't be stated as fact.

Personally, I like lighting and it can really enhance a case.

Well.. I recently upgraded to watercooling and have been fiddling around with UV, I've currently got a bunch of Gelid UV blue fans installed and was just going for a subtle effect, no bright blue LED's or anything, just wanted the UV glow on my tubing & fans, I also bought one of corsair's blue modular cable kits for my AX750 PSU for a cleaner look, although I made a mistake buying a crappy lamptron spectral bar so forgive the uneven lighting atm, I'm still looking for a good UV kit to fix that.

Honestly didnt expect the cabling to glow at all, it glows more than my previous white NZXT cable extensions.
