I like the Tudor snowflake remake, the Pelagos

The clasp is self-adjusting. Cannot think of a practical use for it, but it's an interesting feature.

If they would only release it in blue.

They sent me an email telling me that they don't accept visa, MasterCard or PayPal for international orders... The watch was over 1k, could that have anything to do with it?

Putting your watch on over a wetsuit and gloves perhaps?

I just received a reply stating that they accept PayPal via eBay for international sales as this offers them protection against dodgy sales outside of ebay

Hope this helps

Normally you have the small divers 'extension' on the clasp. This would replace it for wearing over a wetsuit etc.

I imagine it would also be good for keeping the band at a certain pressure, as your wrist size does change depending on temperature (i.e. swells slightly on hotter days etc). This way it would expand as needed on those hotter days rather than having to adjust the band yourself or wear it closer to the wrist joint to maintain comfort.

So does that mean I just need to order from their website through eBay?

Cool thanks.

Sorry to be asking so many questions but i'll be flying to HK soon and have about a day to go to the city. What are the rules about buying a watch over a $1000 when coming back to Australia? I think I need to declare it but I am not sure what happens then? Do I just pay the extra GST etc. on the spot? Kinda trying to keep the purchase of this watch secret from family at home so hopefully I won't be sent any tax letters.

1. go to HK
2. buy watch
3. send box home via post
4. wear watch on plane

or you can put the box in your suitcase and not declare anything

this depends on the brand

for example, Rolex is happy to do repairs for their watches purchased overseas, same thing with Patek and Lange.

How about TAG Heuer / Omega?

I personally don't care about the warranty, I would consider that part of the risk. But as long as it was genuine and I could get it repaired at an official shop or whatever.

I've worn the watch and put the box in my suitcase before but I wasn't checked by customs. I am afraid that might happen this time and they can put 2 and 2 together (seeing as I'll only be going to HK)...

I have often travelled with more than one watch and carried the one that I'm not wearing in its' own original box. None of the watches are new. While they can assume that the watch is new, I can't see how they can prove it base purely on the fact that the box is in the suitcase.

If you are worried just post the box. I have purchased multiple watches before and haven't had any problems getting through. One time I purchased about 6 designer handbags for my wife (all in original packaging) and they didn't blink an eye when they opened the suitcases.
