Hi

Are you going to leave the space empty around the monitor? Or make a 'cover' so you can only see the glass of the screen? Stick with CRT it would be better for that old school look on the games!

Can you post some close ups on that sliding PC rack? That's cool! What about the top part front, where the arcade name would normally be? Are you going to make a backlit sign with it's name on it?

yeah thats one the bits ive been putting off, making the monitor bezel. 'cover'
Oh hell yes i love that 22inch i scored. im still stoked about that.
The sliding pc thing is just a pair of soft/self closing draw runners from bunnings, thier were pricey though seeing as they carry a fair bit of weight and not unhook.
Backlit sign, graphics, all the usuall arcade stuff is going in..

ive been sidetracked by the sound system at the moment. Pics when thats done.

Ive been doing heaps and it still pretty much looks the same, so finally i got something (nearly) completed.
the tunes are ready. Covered in curtain material.. which is a hint of whats to come.

and the monitor bezel is done, 4 layers of 3mm mdf sandwiched together.

Looks great man! I like the colour you chose for the material. Should sound nice when they are pumping out some sound.

Well thanks to the stupid weather, ie: over 35 im not going out in the shed.
housework and general life getting in the way i finally got back to work on this thing.

The rear is sorted, venting power network access handles and stuff

Coin door, hidden usb, power switch

And overall nearly finished actual building

A few little bits and peices to do and i can start the final assembly and wiring.

Getting ready to put it all together, but i got sidetracked this weekend with this.

Its a basic box covered in material with a HTPC inside for my sons room.
I know its just a box, but geez it makes his room look snazzy.

Well its been ages, but i have been busy all this time working away, just not taking pics till i had something to show.
The inside pretty much finished, needs a vacuum.

Front finished, yay.

And to finish, some close up ventilation grill porn.

Covering the entire thing in black curtain material sounded like a good idea at the time, oh my god what a pain in the ass its been, but at the end of the day, im happy with the results. When its 100% done ill grab a decent camera.

well thanks for looking, back to work.
