Idk, I was getting the shits with the new drivers so rolled back to RC11, now CCC actually loads my 2D profile on startup and I dont get any flicker issues with my 120hz monitor anymore.
http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driv...rmation/15798/ Spent literally 2 days trying to sort out my 2D clock problem as CCC wasnt loading the XMP profile I set on startup, the memory default 7970 2D clocks drop memory speed to 150mhz which is unstable on a 120hz monitor, 650mhz does the trick. Just did a test and tried reinstalling 12.2 over the top of RC11 without an uninstall, which made 12.2 work properly.

That's the fun with AMD. Driver Support 10%, Focus on GPU releases 90%

in a year from now the HD7970 will be rock solid with drivers and have about 10-15% more performance.
These things take time....

My 5970 quadfire setup has approx 30-40% better performance than when they were released, there has been ups and downs with drivers along the way though

msi lightning at 1800/1925 with a 3D11mark of P15035 on a single card, talk about pushing it to the limit

Yes its on LN2, I don't think you'd want to run 1.7v on air

I have a card that blows air onto the heatsink and the heat stays in my case!... My pc ran cool with the HD6850 exhaust blower fan system but this HD7970 dumps all the heat inside and so i can either go out and buy 3 x 140mm fans for my case now 2 top and 1 side or i can just leave the side pannel open. either option will let the heat out. but the fan one i think will add more noise.

my case temps arent to bad with these guys in it n there dumping bugger all back into case from what i can see, does your GB have a different cooler?, i have a HAF-X with H100 cooling the cpu, and an aerocool touch 2000 reporting temps and fan rpms, case temp at the moment is 25, im in perth W.A. I was quite suprsied how cool they kept with higher volts. Having a looking at the 680 results in the other thread, i'm pretty happy with these 7970's lasting me a little longer some updated drivers n they can only get better (maybe) but with oc's like i got last night, there good bang for buck, actually who am i kidding, no high end card is good bang for buck, but better anyway :P
