Default Anyone got XP's that do NOT work in SMP?

Just wondering if anyone has had trouble getting XP's (or Durons) to work in an SMP rig?

I know the tiger 2460 and dual durons requires a particular or earlier bios than 1.3 ?? but Ive no personal experience yet. 2cpu has detail in the forums....as they say press search there to find the exact bios number

XP's in general work if the L5 bridge mod is done..

early revisions of the XPs up to 1800 were unlocked, the later versions weren't..

Let me re-iterate the question.

I was the first one on OCAU and 2CPU to use Dual Durons.

I am asking if anyone has had a problem getting THIER XP or Duron to work.

was talking to greg hess (of 3dluvr) on the cgtalk forums, and he said out of the 20 or so XP-SMP rigs he's helped people put together, he's had 5 of them fail due to chip/board problems.

no word on hardware specs tho, which deosn't help the cause.

YES. i have 2 x 1700+ XP CPU's and when booting by themselves say 1700+ MP. Both work perfectly in either socket

When used together only 1 CPU will show up but BOTH get hot. only 1 CPU is detected in the OS and sandra etc. MBM picks up both CPU temps and fan speeds

the XP's do NOT work in SMP. i have redone both CPU's 4 times and as they are detecting indevidually as 1700+ MP can confirm the L5 SMP mod has been done correctly

Board is a Gigabyte GA-&DPXDW
