Hey guys,
I'm looking for a SIM only plan. I'm currently on some Optus $59 a month plan but it's just too much for me, I don't use the plan as much as I should... so i've talked a friend into taking over the contract for me (sucker) and now i'm searching for a new SIM only plan. I am only interested in options from the big 3. All these little companies worry me. Here is my usage from last month, a fairly typical month: Plan: $59 Optus Cap . Bolt-on: Unlimited BBerry + 750MB Usage Period: 08/03/2012 to 07/04/2012 (last updated 29/03/2012 00:36:45 AEST) Total spend outside plan $0.00 Discount/Service Summary: Plan Core Value $636.37 Used: $195.95 Data: 750 MB Used: 168 MB Usage Summary Included Usage Types Quantity Used Spend Outside Plan (ex GST) Data - Mobile Internet 168 MB Mobile Call Charges 55 Calls Excluded Usage Types MMS - Multimedia Messaging 5 MMS Other 519 KB SMS - Text Messaging 720 SMS What would you guys recommend? I don't need the BlackBerry stuff, I don't have a BB anymore. Actually sometimes I use more data than that due to Maps and Youtube and stuff too... Sorry to make this thread but all this "included value" stuff confuses me Wait up, that's current for this month... so I guess i'd use a bit more cause that's the totals until 7th of April... Stupid Optus website sucks Last edited by xxxxxx; 29th March 2012 at 2:16 PM. |

then what you have found is already the best value (~$49/$59 optus or telstra BYO phone plans), but it is utterly ridiculous to pay $50 a month for something that Live Connected charges $11 a month for. but if you like pissing away your money that is your perogative
![]() the mainstream providers are ripoffs compared to the MVNOs that they licence their network access to. if i HAD to go with one of the big-three for company-funding or similar reasons, id go on the telstra $49 BYO plan (same inclusions as the $59 plan with a phone).

Don't know if Virgin Mobile counts as a little company since they are owned by Optus, but their big plan with $450 of usage and 250mb of data isn't bad value and is $19 a month if you BYO phone.

I keep saying this: woolworths sim. Massive bang for your buck and as it's actually Optus itself, not a reseller using the network you deal with Optus staff.

Voda does a decent SIM-only plan for $35 I think...if you can live with the network (which isn't as bad as it used to be,esp if you dont go out into the sticks)
