I'm actually heading just over the border to NSW. Out seaside area there is this location which I've been meaning to go to for a sunrise shoot. Figure this'd be just a sweet with a giant moon coming up the horizon. Place is called Fingal Head Rocks.
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=fin...ed=0CFIQ8gEwAA Reason why I like it? TwinII has done some stuff out there. http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...ghlight=fingal You guys interested?

Thanks for the heads up, will have to scout a good location. According to my ephemeris, moon rise is at 17:11@111°

It's meant to be 11 degrees on Sunday night, so that should mean it's pretty cloudless.

Ah dammit, missed this thread.
If the burger shop is still there at the caravan park, get the works, best burger I've had on the coast, probably wouldn't get the health inspector tick but ha ha! This one -

This is someone else's comparison between a "regular" moon and last year's supermoon.
![]() Can't see what the fuss is ... An extra couple of mm on the moon isn't going to change what a photo would look like. http://www.flickr.com/photos/duffohy...57628960247709 http://www.flickr.com/photos/duffohy...57628960247709 (they aren't good photos by any means but just to illustrate)

![]() It's moon rise around sunset so could be sweet depending on the location. It looks pretty clear here in Brisbane today so hopefully clouds won't impede the rise. I might head out this afternoon, just depends what a mate is doing. I have to be back by 8pm for something so that puts a dampener on it. Nice clear night skies for start trails the last few nights! |

Popped my head out the door just 5 mins ago.
Not really fuss worthy. Moon is bright yes, a shade yellow, but no where near as large as it gets when its low on the horizon (Atmospheric Lensing FTW) nor as red.

Twelve million people ontop of Mt Coot-Tha with 550D/600D/D3100/D5100s and 55-250mm kit lenses and $20 tripods.
![]() Nothing was really working for me, mt coot-tha is a tough location at the best of times framing wise... and especially when you need to meter twice We'll see what we get....
