3.5mm extension for quality headphones?

hey all

just wondering if i would notice reduced quality audio if i were to use a generic 3.5mm extension cable for my earphones running off my iphone?

I use a $5.00 extension for my AD700's as my cheap 2.0 speakers don't have headphone out and it works fine, I tried the headphone out on my PC case but it must be unshielded as there's a horrible feedback noise which is why I don't use it.

So short answer, it'll be fine.

No, the iPhone will almost definitely be the weak link unless it's cable made from sticks.

Just get something of ok thickness and build quality to ensure it doesn't fall apart on you.

I usually eBay my cables, look for something with of good thickness, i like my sleeving too!

Would do the job. It doesn't have any strain releif near the jack, just like the iBuds, so its likely that the cable will rupture there at some stage.

Since its so cheap, your best bet is to buy it, then use it, and see if you hear a difference.
