My single 5870 1GB does pretty well at 2560x1600

damn, after doing a few benchmarking rounds all the settings that i had determined to be "stable" have failed after a few runs.

what would you consider to be "stable"?

though it fails after a few runs within benchmarks....so does that mean my clocks aren't stable in benchtesting?

That's what he said lol.

Stable is when it never crashes, you also have to remember the boost is different with each individual card, so your +100 core OC might be higher than my +100 core OC, so check what your core is jumping to under load through precision-x's monitoring tool after running a bench. So maybe start with a stock run before anything else!

Here's a prime example from the 3dmark11 thread;
Galahad256's gtx 670 windforce
+100=1288 core

Mine
+140=1264 core

i mean it passed both 3d mark 11 and the heaven benchmarks on individual runs but since i did back-to-back runs of the heaven benchmark it crashed after the 4th or 5th run.

That means its close to stable, but not quite. Might also be heating up too much, try raising the fan speed.
