I think LoL's shop is actually pretty decent... but then, I tend to navigate it by knowing the item components and just using the right side rather than the menus... I believe they did a dev pass on the recommended items while i was on hiatus, so you can probably just run with them for a while

Just little things that probably don't make much difference in the long run but improved my game 100%, like summoner spells on my mouse buttons. Since then I have not been ganked with ghost linked to mouse5. Pressing F on the other hand was impossible for some reason haha.

On the topic of the controls... Switch to using smart-cast sooner rather than later. You'll learn your ranges quick enough even without the giant markers, and the extra casting speed makes a huge difference when it comes to combos / clutch casts.

I still don't use smartcast >.< I will manually smartcast with certain champs though (like veig) by holding shift.

I use WASD for my spells, q, 2, e, middle mouse left+right (Logitech mouse) and mouse thumb for my items.

Smart cast ftw, I don't get why you wouldn't smart cast everything, especially with the fact we have the ping disadvantage which just compounds with extra input.

I've got a mate that's scarily good. He used to try to convince me that smartcast was bad, that he was already so fast that he was better off with the 'accuracy' of non-smartcasting.

Eventually I convinced him to actually try it for longer than one game. A couple of days later he was cussing me out for having taken so long to persuade him to make the switch.

Smartcast is awesome, it's like I used to make mouseover macros in WoW except this is actually in the game already!

If you're a good player without using smart cast you can only get even better once you get your head around it. However trying to then play something like Dota 2 that doesn't have smart casting is rough.

how does smart casting work with abilities like amumu's bandage toss where you got to lead a moving enemy, or does it just cast where your mouse pointer is?

I've played Amumu a bit recently and it's simple, smart cast casts where your mouse pointer is so you just lead with your mouse pointer and cast

yeah been trolling with AP amumu lately too, at 600 AP i think his ult does 1k damage lol

my core build is sunfire cape + rylai's sceptor + abyssal sceptor (spelling), they all synergize with each other

all you do is turn on your W and run along side enemies, they die pretty steadily plus they are slowed. with sunfire you got the extra AoE, Rylai's gives you the slow effect when you deal magic, Abyssal gives you magic penetration, sunfire + rylai's = warmog's armour plus you got resists and a decent AP buff. Add a angel guardian for extra trolololol
