Type B. You must have had old cables

also I disabled some system apps and changed priority and buffer in Player pro and haven't heard any pop audio noise since *shrugs* fingers crossed I guess

Hmm, must be then. Oh well, haven't had an issue since I figured out it was the cables.

There will be at least four versions sold in the US. Can you be more specific.

Just got the SGS3. 2 days from getting off the phone with vodapohne. I can't complain about that. It's arrived so quick I haven't had time to get accessories but I've been scrambling around the net getting a screen protector, case, body cover and more screen protectors (cheapies). I know I have too much but lets see which one arrives first.

First impressions:

The phone is super responsive changing menus, even more so than my hacked sgs2. I can't wait to see how much faster it'll run when more mature hacked roms come out.

Sound quality is amazing. I'm so glad they listened to us. The sound sounds even better than my ipod touch which uses the same dac. The bass is so nice while the sound stays crisp and clear. So far I have it paired with a Auvana Live.

Picture quality - I put the same flvs I got from youtube (360p) which I had on the sgs2 and put them on the sgs3 and the picture looks noticeably sharper, brighter and more colourful. Finally I can delete unwanted videos on the default player too.

Toucwiz/ics - I like the app tray on the sgs2 better but I love the card system they've brought to the task manager.

I really dont like how none of the old accessories work. The old dock (which is a million times better thanthe new one), mhl cable, and exteneded battery are kinda wasted. I prefer the old size of the sgs2 better too. The sgs2 was already a bit big, this one while even more thinner is like its been pancaked out. It will still fit in my trouser pocket but ehthiness is gonna put it at risk of getting bent or twisted.

I wish the screen was flat like the ipod/sgs2 too because it is better accommodated by those cheapie screen protectors.

I dont really like the purple. Its an ugly purple. Purple is bad already but light purple is even worse. At least they made the back and front black. Maybe I should have gone with the white. It doesnt look half bad in a coloured case.

Power on - on the sgs2 I had to hold it down for a few seconds to turn on the phone. On the sgs3 one touch turns it on which is bad because combined with the placement of the notch to remove the cover, you might be trying to access the sim/battery/memory card and the phone will start booting up.

Oh and I really really like how the videos thumbs are now animated. that is so so cool.

gahh. now you tell me. LOL

Is there any way to change the email associated with the samsung account other than to just make a new one? (I would prefer not to have my old data hanging around if I'm not going to use that account anymore)

What about on the $49 plan, can I get it for $62 all up?

Tempting... I really should wait for the price drop I know is coming before I re-contract, especially since mine expires in August.

Bugger in the same boat here. Might rectify it later if possible.

Don't be silly this phone doesn't need 2 big ones of ram. Plus the US versions have a completely different SoC your gonna miss out on the best Wi-Fi and sound quality (once Sammy fix their power settings). All I am saying is that with Android 2 gigs of slightly lower clocked ram isn't gonna get you better call quality (basics requirements of a mobile phone, don't worry about the amount of ram the quad core is still faster, compared to the dual core).

Wow airdroid is great, can easily send messages from my PC through a good interface and access whole bunch of other stuff

Don't even need to install any software on the PC, all browser based
