Anyway, my order — finally — got shipped out today. The ETA is Friday (20/06), but I'm doubtful that it will arrive before the weekend. Here's hoping that the driver is impatient and in a hurry.

230mm white bitfenix pro fan sitting here waiting to go in.

And thank you mr bitfenix for send us the cases first! we sure do appreciate it!

i still think by sleeving you will not fit it in.

i have bent the cables as much as possible but still requires 1cm, for the psu to be screwed in.

The Betfenix website and a few reviews said 140mm max for a modular.

Will have to check what else or get a 150mm non modular that they say will be ok.

The way I see it there are two options; cut a hole in the end of the PSU cage and use that 1cm gap to run the cables between the HDD cage and the PSU cage or get a lian li PSU holder

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product...0&ss_index=112

Coolpc has them for $15

I actually thought about that, but for me, defeats the purpose of a small case.

If anything i should have put it all in my SG08 that i have not used, until i work out what WC build i want to do.

im waiting on my case to arrive still;

i have a SS Strider+ 750w also.. looks like ill be cutting some holes to make it fit. no biggie.. bit of a PITA though.
may as well cut a window into the sides (considering going both sides) while i have the jigsaw out.

will probably get the shorter cable kit for the PSU, i'm using the PSU in my PC-Q08 (which is smaller..) with the standard cables and it was a PITA to manage - though i did end up getting everything neat and tidy eventually - i would like to avoid a repeat of that as much as possible when i upgrade..
didnt know you could buy those, so thanks tazor for that tip

I can't remember which video it was, but the reviewer mentioned that you only have 170mm of room for the PSU, so taking into account room for the cables, you can only go for a 150/160mm long psu

Reason: PSU cable thickness. It has nothing to do with the unit itself.
PSU companies do not have a standard on cables. They can either be bundled all together giving you a thick, unbendable sleeved cable, or flat black wires, or individually sleeved cables.

One thing about reading reviews, is people always consider the reviewer's conclusion. But think about it. mITX is 17.1cm. the PSU "cage" is a bit longer than that. Obviously if you have super thick cables, which Anandtech did have, you will need 3-4cm of space. Thin black cables, you could bend them probably 70-80 degrees or so. That would take 1-2 cm at most.

TLDR: 160 will fit. Some will, some won't.
ie: HX650 - That fits.
looks like about 175mm to the edge of the cage. so by my maths, 160mm PSU, 12mm of connector, cutting a hole in the end of the cage will let the PSU cables run vertically/horizontally in the gap without any problems!

1st suggestion for prodigy update: more cable management holes in the PSU cage please!

AU is the first in the world to have it in stock and retail. Just for you guys!
Yep, quite nice to finally have received my White Prodigy, just got back from PCCG - bear in mind I pre-ordered this a while back already, I guess another shipment is due in 3 weeks.

Anyway, at the office, and can't wait to start with this.

Opened the box to have a quick peek, and first impressions:

1) Very sturdy, good quality steel used, not flimsy at all
2) As big as I thought it would be, and ideal for the setup I have planned
3) Will render itself well to a 240mm rad n the top, and I will vertically mount a slimline slotload optical drive next to the switches/USB ports on the sidepanel - very practical solution, and wife will luv it
4) I am an aluminium guy, last steel case I had must have been 2002/2003 sometime, but impressed by this case - worth more than the $99 asking price.

5) Get it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Will post pics on the weekend, will start a mini-worklog.

Phill which PSU are you planning on using?

Good to hear your happy with the case, not normally a fan of plastic/steel cases either and this will be one of the few exceptions.

Would a USB optical drive that sits in a drawer 99% of the time not do the job? Actually it would look very neat mounted underneath the case at the front, should be heaps of clearance with the feet as high as they are?

No we didn't.
We specified ATX - which is the standard is 140mm, but we looked at the market and it's now typically 150mm. 150mm+10mm cables. 160. There's no way a 17cm cage will fit a 160mmPSU+10mm cable... (mITX is 17cm, btw...)

The other standard, is EPS12V, that has plugs the same as ATX, is specified as up to 180mm. We specified. 160mm or longer PSU is EPS12V.

@ Hood: I picked up a new Corsair AX750 Seasonic X660 for this one, and will make it work somehow - I will do a quick dry-fit tonight and feedback on that issue.

Seeing as this will be the Wife's box (no pun intended), I reckon it would be best to have a permanent optical drive attached - she's quite heavy into gaming, and needs the thing all the time.

But, I have a decent external slimline optical drive too, will see how it goes. I think milling the side-panel with a nice slot, and mounting a slotlload would look great, and spare me a few grey hairs

But good suggestion, I will keep it in mind, thanx!

ps: Same as yourself, not a fan of plastic/steel cases, but this one I reckon would be worth a 2nd look, I am surprised at the good build-quality.

Have one of the thumb-screws that is a bit sticky, bit nothing serious. As mentioned, pleasantly surprised at how well this case finished. Not perfect, but for the money, a good deal.

I am looking at getting this case when I can find one in stock but now I am worried about which power supply I should buy from reading the comments above.

Which power supply would be recommended for this case,I need enough power to run a 3570K cpu and something like a gtx 580 or a gtx 670,8gb ram,1 SSD and 1 2TB harddrive.

It would have to a very small psu by the sounds,I am aiming for modular and at least gold specs if possible.

Would 600w cover a system like that above do you think.

Silverstone does an ATX 500W PSU which is really short and should power the i5 3570k and 670 fine.

Thanks I'll check that one out,I was just looking at the corsair 650w gold and it is 160mm in length, and going by what anandtech review said http://www.anandtech.com/Show/Index/...rmable-miniitx it doesn't have a hope of fitting this case, basically they said you need to be looking at a 140mm psu.
anandtech
Our testbed power supply is 160mm, but the modular connectors make it impossible to actually fit inside the power supply bay, and I suspect even a non-modular 160mm PSU would be a tight fit at best. As a result I wound up re-using the SFX power supply from the SilverStone FT03 Mini with an adapter plate, and the much smaller power supply made cabling worlds easier. I feel like if anything about the Prodigy is going to hang up end users, this will be it, so buyer beware: if you're planning a build in this case, get a 140mm power supply
